I've read several articles and it all sounds so confusing.

Please give it me in simple terms someone... my hair is shocking and needs help.

Found this really easy to understand! And she also links to the products she uses on amazon so I'm ganna order them and start it soon!

My hair is practically straight now and when I look back at photos it was beautiful and wavy/curly
I'm hopefully I can get back there 🙈

@littlepeas

I have wanted to do CG for ages but found the whole thing very intimidating. I’ve just bought an entire kit:

merwave.co.uk/

Only used it once but had good results! I have wavy hair (mainly 2b, with some 2a and 2c areas).

How are you getting on with the merwave? It sounds like we have similar hair. I've done a function of beauty order but it's taking forever to arrive so I might try merwave next time.

There is a transition period with switching to co-washing rather than shampoo. Hair definitely should not feel sticky - you may have used too much product - start small. Curl Jelly seems to have been put on the naughty list now as it contains parabens.

I don’t stick to the method strictly after several years of playing about with it but still follow the main principles with good results for wavy hair. I condition with faith in nature, detangle, rinse out all the conditioner, may add some back in if parts of my hair feel dry. Add some curl cream (the boots one is also off the list now apparently!) to soaking wet hair using praying hands and then add gel (currently trying eco gel but not getting a cast with it) and squish until clumps form. Wrap in T-shirt or microfibre towel while I get dressed, gently squeeze out any excess water, then diffuse on medium power, medium heat, reducing to low heat, in sections, switch diffuser off before moving to next section. Takes forever but the slight heat helps the curls form in my hair. Add more gel when it’s on its way to being dry and let it air dry the rest of the way.

Have never mastered refreshing my hair - spray bottles make it frizzy so I have to either totally soak it and reapply products and can rarely be bothered so I just let it do its thing until I next wash it. Even if it doesn’t look particularly wavy/curly, my hair seems to be in great condition for not using harsher chemicals and heat.
