Help Needed!! Rosacea & dry skin

Any help is massively appreciated.
So after a ten year struggle with severe cystic acne, I finally managed to clear it up with a three year on/off course of antibiotics. I've now been acne clear for around 12 months... Yay!!
Except, I've now developed rosacea and extremely dry skin.
I'm keeping a diary of foods to avoid as I know this can vary from person to person.
Please can somebody, anybody help me with skin care. I'm sick of purchasing creams and lotions to be used once and then thrown/given away. Its costing me a fortune!!
So what I'm looking for a deeply nourishing moisturiser suitable for sensitive skin. I'm currently using the aloe range from body shop which is the only thing at the moment whicb doesnt burn my skin. However, after about an hour or so my skin is dry again.
I'm also looking for foundation recommendations as my current one makes my skin flaky.
I'm dreading going back out in public once lockdown ends. Might have to find a nice bag to put over my head!

Bumping because I'm desperate, can anyone help?

Aloe is not going to help you with dry skin - you need something much more nourishing.

I have rosacea and recently my skin has got really really dry - these are the products I use which I'm really liking.

  • Glossier milky jelly cleanser
  • COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
  • PURITO - Centella Unscented Serum
  • iUNIK - Centella Calming Gel Cream
  • PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun

^ that's my daily stuff. All from YesStyle. Centella is great for calming redness, my skin loves it. That all sinks in beautifully so I can apply make up after if I need to. They're all about a tenner each, if you can, get the snail mucin and the serum. I've had mine since November and barely used a quarter since.

For night time, I do the same routine and add in either a drop of facial oil (I've actually run out at the moment but jojoba oil is great for skincare) or use a very heavy skincream - I'm using the veggie souffle by Zoe Bee at the moment. It is very pricey though, something like Astral and a drop of oil would work well also.

Hope that helps!

Soolantra cream from GP for Rosacea. I spent years struggling with this until someone recommended it to years ago (on MN)...... use it very infrequently now and has cleared it all up

I’ve had to ditch all my favourites in my latest battle with a flare up of rosacea and so currently I’m using:

Am: Cetaphil cleanser, cetaphil moisturiser, and SPF 50.

Pm: cetaphil cleanser, soolantra, < hour later when dry I use La Roshe Posay circaplast baume.

I am awaiting Azelaic acid to arrive to add in the morning. I also ordered dr Jart (?) green cream for when I’m super flushed and need coverage. I have tried It cosmetics cc and I like it initially but it dries out / goes patchy on me after a few hours < possibly I’m using it incorrectly >

Thank you so much everyone, plenty to research and try!!!

Hi, I feel your pain op.

I was on the contraceptive pill dianette for 17 years which kept my skin beautifully clear. My Dr refused to put me back on it after having my son 3 years ago and my skin became an absolute mess. Awful acne and redness. Reluctantly, my gp prescribed yasmin. It's not as good as dianette, but took the lumpy spots away however I was left with terrible Roseacea.

I recently bought Rosalique primer after seeing it advertised on Facebook. I bought it with low expectations and am delighted to say it has made a massive difference. After about 3 weeks of use each morning, my skin is sooooo much less red and dry. I also invest in Phoera foundation. It's a heavy coverage make up that has been created to cover birth marks, scars etc but works really well on my skin too. The redness is completely covered by it, as are acne scars.

Good look OP. X

I keep seeing the Rosalique pop up of Facebool but im always reluctant to try from ads on there. I might have to give it a try. Thanks again everyone!!

Soolantra didn’t do a thing for me and azelaic acid, while great, might be too much for you at the moment if your skin is very sensitive. Is it good though.

Just beware!
