Dry robes.....worth it or something else?

For context I don't live in london Grin

We are a surf and paddle boarding family with a caravan down in Cornwall. Been eyeing the dry robes a couple of years now but achingly expensive.

What are the alternatives? Are they that life changing?

my daughter has one primarily for rugby and its fab - she wears it pretty much all the time. She is 13 but has a child's one and i can easily wear hers - I'm 5"2.

I live in NI and there are loads of local companies popping up here making their own versions. I have one of these wildatlanticsurfboards.com/product/wet-dry-robe/. Totally recommend it, I've got my monies worth out of it swimming and surfing all winter and for walking the dog in the absolute tipping rain at night sometimes. I have the decathlon changing towels for the whole family which are great for getting dry and changed under but don't cut it when it comes to keeping warm while drinking coffee and eating cake post swim.

My dsis has one by passenger and loves it as well.
