Lycocell

I’ve just taken delivery of some lovely dungarees from Whistles in lycocell - but they are really creased. Does anyone know how this fabric wears? I’m working from home at least until after summer, so would be sitting in them a lot. I do iron, but generally like things to “keep nice” when I am actually wearing them.

Lyocell is just a form of viscose isn’t it? So it tends to be quite soft and drapes on the upside but on the downside does tend to crease and isn’t that durable.

It most likely won’t have the staying power of cotton for example. I find colour often fades quite fast from rayon/viscose type fabrics, things going floppy quickly or bobbling is sometimes an issue.

It does depend on the quality as well as type of the fabric but if say it’s already heavily creased when new my gut would be to send it back as it won’t have a long life.

Have found Whistles have definitely been cutting back in the quality of the fabrics in general in the last few years . They used to be a real go to place for me but they’ve pretty much dropped off my radar the last while due to the decline in quality.

Thanks @ILikeTheWineNotTheLabel - google tells me they are similar but Lycocell is more sustainable.

I’ve hung them in the bathroom and the steam from DP having a shower has made a huge difference. I’m going to have a big bath shortly (leisure activity as opposed to getting clean) so will keep them there then try them on for a sit test. I really do like them but they weren’t cheap if they are going to be a crushed mess.
