Cleanser & moisturiser for sensitive skin

Can anybody recommend a cleanser and moisturiser for sensitive skin? I've been using Avon Nurtraeffects but the lady I get it from isn't somebody I see much of anymore and it's getting awkward to order and receive delivery. I don't want to use somebody I don't know.

In the past I used Boots Botanics but they discontinued the product.

I found using a non water based cleanser the best for my sensitive skin. Do you find putting water on your face makes it worse? I use the Lancôme milk cleanser the nicest but No.7 do a cheaper one which is still good.

Avene or La Roche Posay are what my dermatologist recommends. I tend to stock up from Escentual when they have one of their 25% or third off offers on.

CeraVe hydrating cleanser, Avene moisturiser (the light and the rich are both great) or Kiehls ultra facial moisturiser

onemouseplace · 27/03/2021 13:21

@AColdDuncanGoodhew yes - I use the light Avene skin recovery cream and it's really good.

I've recently switched to the body shop drops of light range. It's nice and gentle for my sensitive skin, others I have tried feel so harsh and leave my skin feeling tight.

Cerave or centaphil

PresentingPercy · 27/03/2021 13:35

REN do excellent products. I like Nuxe oil too.

NotN0wBernard · 27/03/2021 13:42

I have extremely sensitive skin and most cleansers aggravate the excema I sometimes get on my eyes. I went to Planet Organic in London and got a few samples (you may be able to do similar in a department store) and tried a few. I've stuck with the Green People now for several years and find the fragrance free cleanser excellent. Its not cheap (probably cheaper than Avene though) but it's better than wanting to rip my face off in discomfort!

Cerave hydrating cleanser, and either neitogena hydroboost gel cream moisturiser, or la roche posay effaclar H.

youmakemydreamscometrue · 27/03/2021 13:49

I'm pretty sure you can order directly from the Avon website

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 27/03/2021 13:49

*neutrogena.
Oh, for an edit button

The CeraVe cleanser stings me a little bit. LRP Toleriane or Avène extremely gentle cleanser. Think Boots have 25% off LRP at the moment, and Beauty Expert have same off CeraVe and the Avène, I think.

oohmama · 27/03/2021 14:04

I started using avene after a friend with very sensitive skin recommended it
I love it and wouldn't use anything else now

I buy the set because it works out really good value as the cream on its own is £17

If your skin is ultra sensitive I suggest cetaphil they do a massive bottle of cleansing wash and moisturiser.

I'm so glad you said that it stings me too!

And me if it's a bit flary.

I do love avene. I might have to go back to it. Having an allergic flare up so my normal stuff is out the window and it's back to aveeno and everything non irritant

CyberPixie · 27/03/2021 14:10

Dove unscented bar for washing. A lot of dermatologists seem to recommend it.

2 drops of tisserand jojoba oil followed by aveeno moisturising cream.

My skins never looked better. I have rosacea as well.

Volcanoexplorer · 27/03/2021 15:19

La Roche Posay Toleraine is great for sensitive skin.

WetJan · 27/03/2021 15:51

My favourite face wash is the Simple Micellar gel wash, about a fiver and stocked in supermarkets.

There's a YouTuber called Hyram and he recommends that and Cerave for budget cleansers (I can't afford most skincare people recommend).

frugalkitty · 27/03/2021 15:59

The Nivea sensitive cleanser is fab if you want a budget option, or Avene Extremely Gentle cleanser for something a bit more expensive.

lookdeepintotheparka · 27/03/2021 16:40

Moogoo face wash is good - massive bottle which lasts ages and causes me no problem with my irritable skin!

I didn't get on with either Cetaphil or CeraVe which I tried after seeing them recommended so often on here! CeraVe brought me out in mahoosive spots which was so disappointing!

Lorelaithe1st · 27/03/2021 16:49

I love the Japanfusion cleanser and light moisturiser from Beauty Pie for my sensitive skin, also the Jeju daily moisturiser has been good during the winter months. I like Avene cleansing milk too but couldn’t find it in stock anywhere last time I tried to buy it.

I react to anything and everything but ca use La Roche-Posay moisturiser.

Can*

Bexily · 27/03/2021 19:41
