Folks - help! I have up till lockdown outsourced eyebrow maintenance but generally kept it simple. I have tried to keep up with it myself over lockdowns and I have this crazy wonky eyed situation - help! How can I sort the bad eyebrow (the closed eye in case it’s not clear!) - and can anyone point me to how I can learn to do good normal natural eyebrows for a 40 something year old? (Not crazy bushy, or super thin....)

Buy a brow blade from urban decay and then step away from the tweezers and wait to be able to go to a salon. I've realised that a professional threading appointment every 10 weeks is totally worth it and very inexpensive

Hd brows pro pencil to use incredibly lightly to create hair strokes and stop tweezing the wonky eyebrow for a while and see what grows through. Use a tint as this will darken any blonde/white hairs that are making it look bald when there could be very fine hairs there. I recommend hd tint as well as you need a good strength one, ones from boots can take ages to develop and not last very long. Also get a growth serum to put on everyday.
I do not work for hd😂 but I used to be a beautician and use their products which were always top quality!

Thanks both - I should have just left well alone till I could go back to the threader but I was impatient!

I had microblading done and love it! Post lockdown of course though

PandaFluff · 20/03/2021 14:57

Benefit do a mascara sort of thing called gimmie brow. Something like that would help any pale hairs you have show up while it grows back.

PeacheyPeach · 20/03/2021 15:01

Hi can I ask is microblading worth it, and is it a bit of a commitment. Is it like having your nails done. Going back for fill ins?

brushlaptop · 20/03/2021 15:24

@PeacheyPeach if it's done by someone good (I think it's the phi brows training that is the best) then it's totally worth it. I have mine topped up about every year or so.

Woodlandbelle · 20/03/2021 15:28

Microblading is amazing. I only top up every two years and wouldn't really need to. You look 'done' every morning as soon as you wake up.

I had electrolysis in the early 90's and my eyebrows have been perfect ever since. I never have to touch them. They are pretty much the same shade and shape as your good eyebrow.

sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 20/03/2021 15:32

I would tint them, the "wonky" eyebrow actually just looks more blonde.

PeacheyPeach · 20/03/2021 17:46

Thank you x I'm thinking that it's going to be my post lockdown treat! As my eyebrows are shocking and I'm awful at colouring them in. The 00's trend of thin over plucked eyebrows haunts me to this day !!!

Geordieoldgirl · 20/03/2021 18:07

You could always try getting a soft-lead pencil and shading them in with that. I read that Liz Taylor used to do that, so tried it myself. It does work and looks very natural on me.
