please recommend a powerful hairdryer

My hairdryer broke recently- it was less than 3 years old so very annoying. A friend has lent me her spare one but its not powerful enough and takes ages to dry my hair.

So, I'm looking for a hairdryer to replace my Rimington. Given that it broke when not very old I don't want to buy another the same.

I don't do anything fancy with my hair, I just blast it dry, so don't need fancy attachments. It's quite fine and shoulder length.

I would prefer to not spend more than £50. So, can I please ask for recommendations.

Parlux is worth the money, I’ve had mine for years. Probably around £80 though if you can stretch to another £30 or so.

Thanks, I don't know that brand. I can afford it but given that I just need the basics it never seems worth spending much money. I think the Remington was about £40 and I was really pleased with it until it broke!

I second Parlux. I've had mine for over 10 years and it's still going strong - it's great.

A lot of hair salons use Parlux.

Parlux. I think i paid £80 for mine, and I use it every single day as I have super greasy hair so wash and dry daily. I have had it for over 15 years. Previously I used to pay £20 for a dryer from Boots or similar and would have to replace every year or two. The Parlux are worth the money, they dry your hair faster, they're super powerful and they last for ever. The motor is intended for hairdressers so it withstands very heavy use.

Thanks, it sounds as though a Parlux is the way to go. I'll take a look.

Another vote for Parlux - it’s used twice a day in our house and has been going strong for wel over 10 years. One of the cord keeper bits frayed but it was easily replaced by us.

I bought a Parlux after using one at the gym and noticing a significant improvement in my hairdo. Sadly the gym now has cheaper ones but mine is still going strong after 10 years; I had it serviced once after a small issue and been fine since.

I recall Sali Hughes recommending an alternative that was just as good and slightly lighter to hold but can't recall the brand, sorry.

Parlux .

Parlux again.

Yes, Parlux, I have had mine for 30 years now and it gets used daily

An alternative to Parlux that is just as good but cheaper is Diva.

Makes a visible difference to my hair (my gym had them which is how I found them). And still going strong after 5 years of daily use.

Parlux

I can recommend ETI turbo - I’ve had a similar one since 2008 and it’s still going strong!

Thanks to those of you who recommended a Parlux. Mine arrived this weekend and it's brilliant. Well worth the money
