Turning my back on Foundation!

Over the years of wearing make up I've used £90 foundations and settled on low end luxury foundations with Armani Luminous Silk and Nars Sheerglow being my latest foundations. I've been feeling paranoid about my Nars shade and unable to get a new colour match for my post winter colour so today I used concealer on a small portion of my t zone and cheeks and skipped foundation... By the time I had put my bronzer, highlighter and other make up on I couldn't see what foundation has been doing for me!
I can see my pigmentation however most foundations still show that too! And I had no awkward areas to worry about blending!

So why do we really bother with foundation?!!!

Now I've questioned it, having used foundation for some 20 years since being a teen I'm really not sure what it was achieving!

Wayne Goss would definately approve Wink he uses concealer instead of foundation in lots of his videos. I think there will be a move towards foundation free make up or more tinted moisturisers/bb/cc/tinted sunscreens after all the mask wearing this year. Brands will provide what the customers want after all. They seem to be catching on to lighter formulations with skin care benefits. I am just using up my current foundation then will go for a BB cream. I hope to see more tinted sunscreens with really good shade ranges and high SPF spritz type products for reapplying throughout the day.

I've just started using a green tint primer instead of foundation -- to conceal redness. My skin isn't bad just permanently red and splotchy (rosacea). The primer is amazing! It completely hides the red but not the normal skin, so it looks way less artificial than foundation, and it's really light on the skin. I don't need to put anything over it.

Basically it's in the interest of the beauty industry to convince us all we need loads of products, I think it's great if women start figuring out what they actually need.

I have stopped wearing a liquid foundation. I found my skin was getting clogged up and I was getting more spots from the foundation. With been at home a lot in the past year my skin is so much better and I dont want to go back to using it. I use a small amount of powder foundation to even my skin out and a bit of blusher. Looks more natural and nicer than when I used foundation.
I sometimes use a tinted moisturiser if I am looking a bit pale.

I posted last year to say that foundation ages me and was told that obviously I was using the wrong type! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Never found one that suits me, they make me look older or weird. Emperors clothes. I think it often looks awful, especially the current trend for really heavy formulations that are selfie friendly.
