Wired bras

Have been wearing non-wired bras now during pregnancy and now whilst nursing. Am considering sticking with them going forwards for comfort but I'm a DD/E and wondering if I should go back to wired bras to stop my chest going further south. Does wire make a big difference? Thanks

I have no idea but I'm in the same boat. I tried to wear wired again last week and it was awful!

I've given up on wires. In fact i had given up on bras altogether during lockdown, but I'm an E cup, so for the sake of propriety as things open up I have invested in some stretchy front fastening wireless ones ( only from Sainsbos). They seem to have lots of support actually and I can even wear them all day.

I’m never going back to wired bras- after lockdown wearing cami and lounge bras I think my boobs would shoot off my chest in disgust if I tried to force a wired one on them again.

I don’t see why an unwired one couldn’t offer the same support as long as A) it’s the right size and B) you take care of them properly and don’t just throw them in the washing machine etc like I do.

You will have to tear my underwired bras from my cold dead hand... If they fit well, they are far more comfortable than anything else.

I have just had a bra fitting (via Zoom) with a fitter at Bravissimo and I was impressed - she really knew her stuff. I would recommend you book a free consultation with them. If you haven't got access to Zoom you could still do a live chat with them. They sell a good selection of nursing bras both wired and non-wired in several different brands.

I don't work for them... honest.

Thank you so much @WilmaPantry I'll do that. I could really do with it as I don't have a clue what size I am anymore 🤣

I had no idea what size I was either. Turns out I am a 38 under-band and an E or F cup depending on style. I was trying to cram my breasts into a 42 C or D cup and the wires were sticking up my armpits like sharp skewers. As you can imagine, I have spent most of lockdown braless!

justawoman · 16/03/2021 16:05

I too find properly fitting wired bras the most comfortable and am a 32G. Non wired bras always give me a rash under my breasts if I wear them all day (sorry if TMI!). I am happy because I found my perfect style, which happens to be a plunge one by Pour Moi which was going for less than a fiver on amazon at the time so I bought seven!
