Moisturiser for acne prone skin

My skin feels so dry and tight at the moment because of the acne cream that I use, but every moisturiser I’ve used tends to make my acne flare up.
I can’t use anything with vitamin C in for that reason.
I have quite a lot of scarring and I get flaky patches where old spots are healing up.

Can anyone recommend anything reasonably priced (under £20) that I could use?
Simple is a no go for me and the ordinary one with HA in gives me flare ups too ( I think the HA in general does)

I use La Roche Posay EffaclarH - it's made for people on acne treatment and I've used it for years and never had any issues.

It's around £13 but each tube lasts me a while.

I also have dry skin due to acne treatments. I use this one and find it works well.

I love the Origins Ginzing gel moisturiser. It's a wee bit over £20 but a lovely product.

Avene Skin Recovery cream is excellent for this.

Thanks all, will look into these and hope for the best Smile

I use nivea Q10 and it suits me well. Only £11 and it’s often on offer.

The second the La Roche Posay one - it's the only moisturiser that doesn't make my acne flare up.

@frugalkitty

Avene Skin Recovery cream is excellent for this.

I second this!
Also LRP Toleraine

Both my daughters use the LRP creams and love them.

Neutrogena clear and defend is very good, oil-free and very light, usually cost around £5 so good value for money too. It was recommended by my GP when I had bumpy, dry, flaky skin. I have been using it for several years now and if I use anything else the problem comes back.

Definitely Effaclar. There are several moisturizers in the range, read up about them and see which one is more suitable.
Avoid Simple like the plague. It really isn't!

I'm in the same position as you OP
I use Paula's Choice oil free moisturiser

minipie · 14/03/2021 21:43

I’m using the LRP Effaclar tinted moisturiser at the moment and it doesn’t seem to make my acne worse. However, it doesn’t have an SPF - I’d really like to find something similar with an SPF in it...

DD has recently moved to the Cera Ve moisturiser.
