Heat Protector for Fine Hair

Out of the blue at 45yrs my hair has decided to pack a strop if I use any product remotely too heavy... I use a salon shampoo / conditioner for fine hair and that works well but all heat protectors seem to turn it instantly lank and greasy. I've always avoided product but the past 6mths it's gone next level.

I've tried cream, spritz and aerosol heat protectors, aerosol was passable but not sure it's actually protecting my hair from heat damage as it feels dry.

Any recommendations from those with fine hair would be much appreciated!

Stop using heat. If you have fine hair it should dry pretty quickly and use a cold setting on the dryer if you are styling it. Most heat protectors will have something to make it shiny in them like silicone making fine hair feel heavy and lank. Deep conditioning hair masks like from Shea Moisture range will help it to feel less dry.

Have you tried the Lee Stafford original one? I have fine hair and find it weighs it down less than most.

Get rid of silicones and sls. Have a look at 3 more inches range

I really like the kerastase one- thermique something. I have fine hair and it works really well.

Yep, Kerastase Cimemt Thermique 👍

Middle aged, fine hair here with an addiction to hair straighteners. My hair is much less dry, frizzy and damaged with sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. I use Living Proof. It's expensive but lasts months. For heat protection I use Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil. It's really good but don't use much at all so your hair doesn't get greasy.
