Thick hair - clips

I’ve got stupidly thick hair and thanks to lockdown it’s not been cut for months so it’s bra-band length and triangular. It’s also wavy and unruly. The only way I can be seen in polite society is to put it up. Does anyone have any recommendations for claw clips/duck clips/ anything similar that can hold up approximately a tonne of hair?

Scünci No Slip Grip for thick hair is good for keeping everything contained but I tried Googling it and it seems it's been discontinued Sad

DD has relatively thick hair that used to be knee length, I could get the entire lot up pretty easily in a clip like one of these. She won't suffer any discomfort at all. I used to wear them too, they're pretty comfortable & easy to use.

You'll need one with a long comb, I just put the first one I found.

Alternatively have you considered doing it with hair sticks or a fork, either with or without a plait first? Lots of tutorials on YouTube.

Scunci ones are the best I've found

@AnExcellentWalker I have similar hair to OP and I bought several hair forks and they are useless! I'm very sad that I'm back to tying up in a pony tail

I usually clip mine off my face with a giany plastic sectioning clip, when it's annoying me. Superdrug do some extra large hair grips which keep it pointing in vaguely the right direction when I tie it back. One of these just about contains my outgrown fringe without bursting open.

Thanks guys. I managed to order one of the scunci ones (the ‘octopus’ one) and I’m debating buying one of those double-ended African combs. I can always manage to make it look okish by twisting it into a simple bun - actually that looks quite smart from the front in zoom meetings but it does look a bit messy from behind.

I also often just give up and stick it in a ponytail!

Chignon pins although mine dont stay in for long I have to redo frequently. I also use the extra string teleohonecwire type ones, forget name sorry. Also look up DIY sock bun on youtube, I've yet to try but looks effective

The scunci no slip grip octopus clip (sounds like something out of Dr Seuss!) arrived yesterday and it’s brilliant! I can twist my hair up in under 5 seconds and it holds it all securely
