The Body Shop - any good these days?

I have very fond memories of The Body Shop as a tween/teen in the late 80s/early 90s. When a basket of soaps and pearls was the standard tween birthday gift and Aloe Vera moisturiser was a revolution!

My daughter is about to turn 12 and suddenly super interested in skincare and makeup. I’d like her to go cruelty free/organic/vegan where possible rather than buying crappy stuff full of badness. The Body Shop immediately sprang to mind as somewhere she could go and browse (when shops open again). Especially for skin tone make-up as that’s pretty hard to buy online (she wants a powder foundation, concealer blah blah blah).

My question is, is the Body Shop product range any good these days?

I know the shops aren't open right now but the Sales Staff targetting the moment you walk in is off putting .
I'd imagine in the busier shops there must be a fair bit of shop lifting and they need to lure a shopper in while keeping an eye on all browsers but it does make me think Feck off , I want to have a mosey

Back in the day they were ground breaking .
The refills
The trave sizes
The availabilty of Cruelty Free that wasn't BWC ( Beauty Without Cruelty ) the only other readily available brand I used .

The make-up brushes used hair combed from ponies ! I guess now synthetic .
They went from their very straight forward black tubs to a million different ranges . Some worked some not

I miss -
PassionFruit Cleanser
Honey&Oat Scrub (the way it used to be)
Sugaring Kit
Henna Powder (including the colour free one)
Seaweed soap
Absinthe Handwash (loved that)
Their mascara that was sealed (I won't ever buy an unsealed one) in Navy

I don't want Body Butters or Yoghurt
I want the Ginger Shampoo & Conditioner to be on Special Offer when other things are .

Ooh and things I have loved and kept - ancient Beech Lip liner pencil and eyelash curlers .
Had ages, never bettered .

Also loved Green Shampoo , Hair Salad and Raspberry Ripple bath foam.

I'd forgotten the sugaring kit.

Beauty Without Cruelty - there's a blast from the past. I loved their eyeshadows when I was a teen.
Anyone remember Sensiq? Iirc it came in white containers, sort of marble effect?

Their behaviour towards JK Rowling was totally shit - which they acknowledged privately but didn't offer a public apology.

All the same I do still buy white musk body spray which I went back to a couple of years ago because it's the only perfume that doesn't give me a massive headache and DS uses the Ginger shampoo for dandruff/irritated scalp and says it's the only thing that really works.
