Foundation I can return

Really fed up with buying foundations £30+ which turn out to be the wrong colour/texture.
Are there any websites which accept a return once open policy?

QVC- you have to pay P&P but can return no questions asked!

Charlotte Tilbury

Do you have an existing one you can use for colour match ? Findation website will help with that.

Otherwise I know tropic skincare accept returns without any hassle

Ponks · 09/03/2021 09:50

I think Boots are taking returns at the moment

LoveYourUsername · 09/03/2021 10:02

Bobbi Brown if you buy online will refund all foundation and concealer.

I'm sure you can return any cosmetics to boots as you can't try in store.

After spending a bomb on foundations I'm actually loving L'Oréal true match. Depends what you want from your foundation though!

Ilmakiage

Use Findation and get a colour match.

Space NK refund for unopened products and give credit for used products.

Not what you've asked OP but I find it helpful to google the swatches and trawl through google images and youtube videos of them being tried. There are lots of helpful watching videos and comparisons to other foundations by shade and tone.

Estée Lauder

Clarins will send you a selection of samples to try.

On a side note I just bought some Chantecaille make up by watching YouTube and Instagram vloggers and I was really pleased with my choices. They swipe the different colours on their arms and show you in different light etc, it was so much better than guessing from internet pictures.

Eteri · 10/03/2021 04:07

You need to try in stores.

Nobody online can tell you a foundation, because nobody knows your skin unique type/shade/undertones. It's a process.

BettyBeStillNow · 10/03/2021 11:12

This is why I have considered (when restrictions lift) booking in with a make up artist to find a foundation which covers my ruddy cheeks and works with my primer(s) and for maybe some tips on techniques. And yes I have watched a lot of YouTube videos.

I really wish that companies would do a sample set of maybe 3 or 4 shades you could order and try at home in your own mirror. Or just samples like you would get in a magazine.

XingMing · 10/03/2021 13:26

When stores re-open, most beauty counters will give you a little pot to test. I now won't even consider ranges that don't do this.

PutneyHill · 10/03/2021 16:16

Tbh even when I've tested in store the colour looks completely different once outside, so the idea that I can try at home feels me with joy.

Boots have a return/exchange policy whilst sampling isn’t possible. Remember to keep your receipt.
