Has anyone tried these? I've been intrigued by them since I saw them in Boots but I think that's because they've got a natural looking packaging but I don't think they are!

I like coconut and banana scented products so I'm tempted to try the shampoo and hair mask but wondering which one to get.

The coconut shampoo leaves quite a rich coating on your hair, which I know is quite marmite. I am using some for the first time now and not sure I would repurchase, but I have an oily scalp, so it not designed for me. It also smells more like Shea butter and only a little coconutty (I bought it for the smell!)

I have also used the banana hair mask and the orange tub one. The orange one is much richer, and they make my hair and bathroom smell of it all day! Would rebuy the banana one, just for the smell!

Anotheruser02 · 08/03/2021 08:59

I have the banana tub, it's not the best in shower conditioner but it makes a lovely leave in product you can use the smallest amount in the lengths before drying, it smells lovely and leaves a softness.

TurquoiseKiss · 08/03/2021 09:03

I have tried the banana shampoo, conditioner and mask; and the coconut and macadamia shampoo and conditioner. The banana line feels it really cleans my hair and my hair definitely sits well after blowdrying with no other styling products used. Hair also felt like it could go an extra day before washing again compared to other shampoos (very greasy roots). From memory I think the coconut and macadamia ones worked well too but there was more of a noticeable difference with the banana line.

ancientgran · 08/03/2021 09:05

The banana mask has done wonders for my hair. I've tried much more expensive stuff that did little or nothing but from first time I used it the effect has been amazing.

I haven't used any of the other products, I have a shampoo that suits me so not looking to change that.

MrsPatrickDempsey · 08/03/2021 09:24

I have the banana and coconut ones. Alternative between the normal conditioner and intense one. Really like them.

ElderMillennial · 08/03/2021 14:05

Sounds like the banana might be the winner! I partly want it for the smell too! I used to buy the body shop banana shampoo and conditioner and so this might be a good alternative.

The orange one is papaya I think which is supposed to be repairing so that sounds good but I'm not as attracted by the smell!

They are all half price in Morrison's so thinking of adding to my next shop.

Yes, papaya, that's it! I couldn't remember. I would also say the smell is very strong (stronger than the banana), my DP used to complain about smelling it all night in bed, even though I used to use it (as a wash out mask) first thing in the morning to let the smell go down!

Reinventinganna · 08/03/2021 20:05

My hairdresser used the papaya one after bleaching as a mask. I was quite shocked when I asked what the lovely smell was!
I spend loads on hair products and this works just as well! (I still can’t bring myself to swap!).

marchduck · 08/03/2021 20:13

I haven't used any of the shampoos, but I have tried all the masques, which I use as a rinse off conditioner, rather than leaving on my hair. I've liked them all, the newest variety Watermelon and pomegranate is great and I love the smell.

ElderMillennial · 08/03/2021 20:15

It sounds like they are quite good:

I'm thinking of getting the banana shampoo, and banana mask and papaya mask to try.

I'm tempted by the coconut too but it looks like the coconut and banana are both moisturising whereas the papaya is repairing so it might be worth trying both.

I used to use hair masks all the time and I don't bother so much any more but my curly hair probably needs some tlc sometimes.

MrsWP · 08/03/2021 20:22

I really love the banana shampoo and conditioner.

Mrsbclinton · 08/03/2021 20:25

I tried the aloe vera shampoo & conditioner. It felt like there was a residue on my hair after I dried it. Wont buy it again.

ElderMillennial · 08/03/2021 20:27

I'm glad I asked. Some good feedback - thanks!

The aloe vera one doesn't really appeal to me tbh.

I used the Pomegranate Shampoo & Conditioner for a few weeks but it didn't work with my hair at all. Really drying and left it quite frizzy.

ElderMillennial · 08/03/2021 20:34

I haven't seen the pomegranate one but sounds like it's not the best!

I ordered the banana shampoo, banana mask and papaya mask as well (as I think the papaya one was a repair one for damaged hair) in my Morrison's shop that is arriving this morning.

The papaya one has been swapped for aloe, according to my substitution list! I might send that one back...

Plump82 · 17/03/2021 08:21

I echo what others have said about the banana mask. I use it daily as a conditioner as have very long hair that tangles as the back of my neck. It smells so good! I want to eat it!

ElderMillennial · 17/03/2021 08:22

I do love banana scents 🍌

I used the aloe one. It was fine. I'm slightly sceptical about the claims of large % of natural ingredients in most things. 'Natural' covers a whole range of things. Even arsenic is natural!

ElderMillennial · 17/03/2021 09:14

Yes I think there's a bit of a trend towards the "natural" which, as you say, is misleading.

I have dry(ish) curly hair so was wondering whether the aloe would do much for my long curly hair as that's for "normal" hair... but they all probably have same ingredients

OP posts:
Boogiewoody · 18/03/2021 07:26

I use the banana mask and it's the best conditioner I have ever used. I have dry, quite coarse, curly hair and it makes it lovely and soft. I tried the coconut one for curly hair but didn't notice much difference and I like the smell of the banana better. Might try the shampoo based on this thread

ElderMillennial · 18/03/2021 07:57

That sounds promising @Boogiewoody I didn't realise the coconut one was for curly hair but I was tempted by it as I think it said something about frizz and curly hair can ofc get frizzy.

I'm looking forward to trying the banana shampoo and mask.

The papaya one was substituted for the aloe and coconut one in my supermarket shop yesterday. I'm not sure that will be as good for me as it's for "normal" hair so I told the delivery guy I don't want the substitution. He said he won't root through my bags for it and he'd just take it off my bill so I got a free one! Having looked had a quick look at the ingredients they look v similar.

OP posts:
Boogiewoody · 18/03/2021 08:24

I haven't tried the Papaya one. I think the banana one is best.

ElderMillennial · 18/03/2021 08:38

I just love banana scent and it said for dry hair so I think it would be good but the papaya one said "repairing" or something so I thought it might be good as more of a protein conditioner. These should last me a while now anyway but if they're any good I might get the papaya one next time I see them on offer.
