Best moisturiser for over 60s

Needacushion · 06/03/2021 12:26

I love elemis anti ageing moisturiser (got a free sample), but can't afford to buy it (£60 for 50 ml)

Can anyone recommend a good product for my rather dry, sensitive skin. I am in my mid 60s and not rich.

TIA

My mum (71) uses Boots No7 Restore & Renew day cream spf15.
I think it's £25 or £27; there are always various offers on in Boots though.
Online until Monday there's 20% off No7 I think.

Cerave or Roche posay hydraphase or avene skin recovery cream to get it into shape, then loreal age reperfect (not perfect, the reperfect one). The loreal is generally on offer the other three range but are all under 20euro. Best of luck!

Aldi, Lacura Caviar - £6.99

I have tried them all over the years, Clinique, Dermalogica, Elmis, Chanel, and even a sample of La Prarie.

Aldi beats them all hands down.. what is more at that price I never worry about how much I am using.

I’m 58 soon so nearly there. The Aldi one is excellent but my absolute favourite is Neal’s Yard Frankincense. I use the nourishing one.

Try qvc for elemis op. Lots of offers and easy pay

Thank you. I will investigate these.

Also Cerave moisturising cream. You get it in an enormous tub for about 12 quid or something? Lasts forever and is absolutely lush on the face.

It's actually better than Nivea, imo.

Try Boots no 7. There are a few gift sets at the moment (for mothers day). Get one or two of those then you get to try different stuff.

I'm 64 with sensitive, dry skin and I have to be very careful with products. On a day to day basis, I use plain avocado / wheatgerm or almond oil (I switch between them) plus UltraSun Face sunscreen for sensitive skin. I cleanse with oil too.
If my skin feels like it needs something richer, I use Dr Organic Olive Oil moisturiser from Holland and Barrett, or sometimes blue pot Nivea - I'm surprised I don't get a reaction from that as it's so perfumed but it works.
I've tried various fancier products but they've all made my face itchy and sore.

I'm 65+ and skin not sensitive, use Nivea Soft. Moisturisers in pots are bacteria heaven unless you wash your hands before using them.

I am loving, loving, loving Curel, available at Boots, . Started with the trial kit £17.50 and now bought the lot full size.
I have dry sensitive skin, rosacea and lovely maskne (i'm a nurse wearing full PPE for 12plus hours a day)
Even Cerave was starting to irritate.
Curel is apparently the No.1 for mature dry skin in Japan or so says the blurb.

My Mum is older than you but she swears by the L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil moisturiser cream.
