Shampoo help

Someone pleeeease recommend me a shampoo. I have tried all kinds from cheap to expensive (kerastase) and nothing really hitting the spot.

Hair is thick and straight, but each hair is fine. Going grey so getting coarser. Roots get oily quickly.

"All" I want is for it to look shiny and not need to wash it every day.

Most shampoos seem to either be too moisturising and leave it quickly greasy or even lacklustre straight after washing, or too clarifying and leave it dry, coarse and flyaway.

Been using kerastase blond one but it's a bit too moisturising. Probably best so far though...

By the way, I have tried shampooing twice each time, and rinsing with cold water. And I definitely want a shampoo, I'm not into the non washing trend 🤪

Same hair and same problem, so watching with interest!

I switch between www.pantene.co.uk/en-gb/hair-products/shampoo/micellar-water-shampoo and herbalessences.co.uk/en-gb/products/bourbon-manuka-honey/bourbon-manuka-honey-shampoo/

The Herbal Essences is more on the conditioning side but it smells amazing!

Have you tried a shampoo bar? Seanik from lush I like.

I've cut down my hair washing to 2-3 times a week and my hair looks so much better. It was brutal to start with as I washed daily before.

Did you know that Kerastase sell separate products for thick and fine hair? If you hair is coloured I recommend the Chroma Riche line for fine hair.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will defo give the Pantene a try as it's not expensive.

Yes I've looked at the whole kerastase range but when you look at the reviews of the ones that might suit my hair they're not very good 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not tried a shampoo bar but could give that a try too, thanks.

Any other posh brands that people like? Shu Umera?

Dunno about posh, but Philip Kingsley and redken have been great

I like label.m range, I've tried the daily cleanse and an oat and honey moisturising, but I've got a shampoo bar now which I prefer to any bottled shampoo.

I adore the olaplex shampoo and conditioner and my hair is similar you yours. But it’s more dry at the ends and greasy at roots due to having a balayage. I think Superdrug has a specific range for this hair type

I have the kind of hair that everyone assume is thick hair. It isn't actually it's very fine, I just have a lot of it.

The two shampoo/conditioner combos that hands down are the best for my hair are:

  1. Drunk Elephant Cocoamino Glossing shampoo and conditioner. No idea what's so amazing about this but whenever I use it, I have a good hair day. Nice smell of almonds, shampoo cleanses thoroughly but not to the point of stripping hair and conditioner smooths and silkens. Seems to reduce frizz considerably too.
  1. Kiehls Amino Acid shampoo and conditioner. Similar results to above, hair feels just the right level of clean and conditioner leaves hair silky and swishy.

I am a shampoo addict - I have many different high end types but these two are the ones I buy over and over again and give hands down the best results.

Great suggestions thank you!! I will check them out.

My hair is exactly like that @ChequerBoard

If these shampoos are sulphate free do you find they lather at all? I find it really disconcerting when they don't 😬
