Dance/ballet styles for DS

Hi all, was just wondering how people styled their DS hair for ballet as DS (9) is going to join a ballet class after lockdown which states on their website that long hair must be put in a classic ballet bun.Am happy to tie it back that way although I'm sure DS won't.

DS or DD?
If DS: boys don't have to wear their hair in a bun!

If he has hair long enough to be put up why do you think the rules should be different for him?

DS that's good to hear hopefully they'll allow a low ponytail then.

I don't as I said I'm completely fine with putting his hair up that way.

A ponytail is usually acceptable for boys. It's just to stop it being a distraction when dancing.

Out of curiosity (I've never been to ballet or had a child who did), what happens to girls or boys whose hair is growing out and not quite long enough to go into a bun yet?

Tie the front bit back out of their eyes or a hairband if too short for that.
