Long denim skirt instead of jeans?

I've never really found jeans particularly comfortable and this has got worse as I've got older. I bought a calf length full denim skirt on a whim from White Stuff a few months ago and find it so much more comfortable that I've bought another similar denim skirt. Now I'm wondering whether I'm hideously frumpy. I tend to wear the skirts with brown long boots and a scoop neck t-shirt and little jumper or cardi. Will probably wear them with white trainers or sandals as it gets warmer. Honest thoughts please. For context I'm 49 ,5ft 6 and size 12 to 14. Clothes tend to be very functional for me but I do like nice bright colours and would hate to look a real frump.

I have one and don’t feel frumpy in it. I prefer my denim dress though.

That Hush one is gorgeous - not frumpy at all.
And Hush now do size 6?! Oh god, off to investigate as their 8s used to swamp me so I thought it was off limits - this could prove expensive Grin

@Fortherosesjoni70

Its very much a 70;s trend anway. That seems to be what is in.
I remember wearing the now so called 70’s retro trend in the actual 1970’s when I was in my 20’s. Loved my denim & flowery calf length skirts & still do occasionally wear similar.🙂

I hate jeans. So uncomfortable. Even when I was skinny I hated them. What you've described sounds like a really good look, but you have to go with your gut feeling! Do you feel frumpy? These days I wear little dresses and chunky boots. I'm shorter than you though. If you're happy and comfortable, wear your clothes with confidence. When the hairdressers open, get a funky haircut, put on some make up and you'll be fine ☺️

I think the description with the knee boots probably made me think frumpy. I would say a chunky ankle boot of some description would make it more current but I’m not wearing it so if you love it with knee boots you should stick with that.

I have one similar to the Hush one (but bought in a charity shop Smile and I get a lot of compliments on it (and I'm nearly 60..)
