Because I'm worth it.
Olaplex, Aveda or Phillip Kinsley?
I am 51, so hair is not what it used to be, but it's not bad either.
It's long (bra strap), highlighted, grey showing, mousy brown...
Biggest problem for me is that it absorbs moisture like crazy so looks puffed up and frizzy most of the time, which drives me bonkers. When it doesn't do that, it can look pretty nice.
I would love to hear your recommendations and also, if there are any offers or discount codes going, I'd love to hear about them!

I use the Cantu range of products, on offer in Superdrug currently. Silicon and phosphate free. I use the shampoo and conditioner, the mousse and the styling cream, with a spray for next day when I'm not washing my hair.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 23/02/2021 09:05

Olaplex definitely. I bought the £22 trial kit first on Cult Beauty and it’s really made more difference to my hair than anything previously tried.

Look Fantastic have a 20% discount for new customers I think.

Slavetominidictator · 23/02/2021 09:06

Try Olaplex if your absorbs a lot of moisture. It makes a huge difference to mine. But their number 6 also helps hugely (a sort of cream you put it before you dry it but only use a small amount).

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 23/02/2021 09:07

Definitely Olaplex. It's fantastic! Well worth the price. You don't need to use a lot so it lasts ages.

SherlocksDeerstalker · 23/02/2021 09:07

I’m a recent Olaplex convert. I usually use a refill shampoo from by my local refill store, but the difference is night and day. I use literally the SMALLEST amount of the olaplex and it lathers so well and my hair feels really clean after. It’s going to last me forever.

AnotheChinHair · 23/02/2021 09:09

Sold. Olaplex it is. I use their other products and I think they're fantastic so I am more than happy to try their shampoo and conditioners. I'll check Cult Beauty but if anyone knows the most economical way to buy them, please let me know. Cheers!

I’d of said aveda 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 23/02/2021 12:17

Try Look Fantastic OP, they often have 20% discount. Let us know how you get on using it.

AnotheChinHair · 23/02/2021 13:37

Just as I was deliberating, a message came from space nk with 20% off so I have bought Olaplex from them. I have bought the shampoo, the conditioner, the treatment (#0) and the perfector (#3).
Code is 20OFFSNK.

I have shoulder length, fine and very dry but also very moisture absorbing hair. I've tried Aveda and it made no difference, Philip Kingsley Elasticizer on the other hand was absolutely brilliant. I just forgetting to use it. Brilliant stuff.

I haven't tried Olaplex but am now tempted. Best if I just remember to use the Philip Kingsley that i do have in the meantime though!

Flygirl94 · 23/02/2021 16:22

Olaplex is great I also love Joico k-Pak reconstructing shampoo and conditioner

ChequerBoard · 23/02/2021 16:38

Drunk Elephant Cocamino Shampoo and Conditioner. I think it must contains Angel tears or something. It is truly magic in a bottle and it smells of almonds (think Vidal Sassoon) too.

Deathraystare · 24/02/2021 19:47

@AnotheChinHair

I guess I am the same in that my hair gets dreadfully frizzy now. A case of careful what you wish for (my hair was very oily as a teen!).

I washed my hair with Philip Kingsley volume shampoo and conditioner and it felt very squeaky so I put on some hair colour conditioner (Nutrisse??). After all that it is still crunchy!

I got a hair mask which you can use dry on hair so I might use some tomorrow. Only problem then is it might turn greasy!

radioband · 24/02/2021 19:50

I’ve tried Olaplex and it didn’t seem to make much difference, I was gutted 😞

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2021 09:07

Try aveda. It works really well. There’s a function to select your local salon when you make an account, they get a cut of what you buy then.

It’s nice to support the local businesses.

FedNlanders · 25/02/2021 09:09

Mine didn't seem much different with opalex either. I was gutted.
