Can anyone recommend a brand for a foot peel? Never done one before! Thanks

Ooohhh yes I love these! Always do footner but they are quite pricey but I’m not sure if the alternatives are as effective.

Bouledeneige · 22/02/2021 22:37

I'd like to know too. I've tried two but they didn't work.

Crakeandoryx · 22/02/2021 22:37

Also need one. It's time to start sprucing myself up for summer.

dudsville · 22/02/2021 22:38

I have dry skin. I saw Footner was popular on here so I tried it. It did nothing for me. The thing that helps me is to scrub them when in the bath or shower, then slather on Nivea blue tub and pop socks on. Do this a few days running until they get better, then do it weekly then a couple of times a month are sufficient for me.

quarentini · 22/02/2021 22:39

Get some Newton sponges.

didireallysaythat · 22/02/2021 22:41

I buy the footner imitations from Amazon. I find if you have a good long soak in the bath, put the peel-socks on and a pair of regular socks over the top and then leave them on for a while (I usually put my feet up and watch telly so could be a couple of hours). I maybe over doing it as the tops of my feet can be a bit itchy after a day or two but they always work

GeidiPrimes · 22/02/2021 22:51

I wouldn't bother - they only make the top of the foot peel, not the sole where all the crusty old skin is. Newton sponge thingies or a Scholl make something like a tiny electric sander, but for the feet.

didireallysaythat · 22/02/2021 23:02

Maybe I've been lucky then as they work just great on the soles of my feet. I'm not organised enough to use a file every time I shower, so I tend to over do it and end up with sore patches. But I'm not very attentive!

hamper555 · 23/02/2021 06:36

Thanks all!

I've always had great success with Footner. I wear the bag things under socks overnight. Even my ankles end up shedding! Feet are baby soft after a few days when all the dead skin has come off.

picklemewalnuts · 23/02/2021 07:09

It really helps to rub the spongy skin off with a towel after every shower. No need to be thorough, just a regular rub. They soon soften up. So much easier than using a file or pumice on dry skin.

felulageller · 23/02/2021 07:22

I use a pumice in the bath every week and I've never had hard skin.

FreshFaceTime · 23/02/2021 14:12

Udderly Smooth is the absolute best for foot skin!! I did the same as the blue nivea post with the socks on while it sank in but unlike when I've used nivea/other moisturiser this is the only thing that made a massive difference from the first attempt. I used it on my flaky shins too and it worked like an absolute dream!

Ffs links not working 🙄

FreshFaceTime · 23/02/2021 14:18

Pic might work?

Foot peel
lockdownalli · 23/02/2021 14:46

I use Footner and it works really well for me.

I am a picker/sporner so I love the peeling phase

Damfino · 23/02/2021 16:45

I've used footner and a couple of the amazon ones, both worked fine although they didn't work on the calloused areas of my feet.

I've just got a tea-tree and peppermint foot peel from B&M to try, it was £1

Annebronte · 23/02/2021 19:07

OhK Green Apple foot Peel works very well. You can get it in Oliver Bonas and I think on Amazon too. Works on soles as well as tops. Make sure you soak feet first.

Exactly the same. I did Footner and it did nothing for me. I left it on a bit longer and used two close together etc etc. Soaked them every night in the bath. They peeled like mad, but then my feet were pretty much exactly the same as they were before. They don't work on very dry or hard (gross, sorry) bits I don't think. I guess if your feet are ok to begin with, but then why would you be peeling the fuckers Grin?

Anyway, I did a DIY pedicure recently and am going to continue with that. I think, over time, it will make them nice enough for sandals in summer.

dudsville · 23/02/2021 19:56

Ha ha, yes Balls, the thing that transformed the hard bits was a file. I do that every few months, your postreminded me!

hamper555 · 23/02/2021 20:00

I am sat here with my footner foot peels on - will keep you posted!

Nohomemadecandles · 23/02/2021 20:03

Footner was nice around toes and sides but didn't make much any impact on my heel or ball. The files that look like graters on Amazon are brilliant! 10 mins and my feet are soooooo soft!

Mrstwiddle · 23/02/2021 20:10

DON’T DO IT!!! I had one, can’t remember the name, and it was approx 2 months before the peeling stopped, just such a faff, and then within a few weeks they were back to how they had been originally, complete gimmick.

Mrstwiddle · 23/02/2021 20:11

Oh sorry, just saw you’ve done it. Hope it works out for you!
