And is there any science- based advice anywhere? I want what gives the very best results in the long run. Don't mind that much about cost.

I would say prevention is better than cure, it's never too late to stay out of the sun and wear a high uva/uvb sun factor cream. Also drink lots of water and sleep on your back. I am sure some one will be along to offer advice on daily cream as well.

Thanks Unusually - I have a sleeping disorder so have seen very little sunshine or even daylight at any time of my life but am developing really deep wrinkles nonetheless. I get plenty of sleep (although not at normal times) and drink loads of water so I think it must just be bad luck.

Prescription strength retinol

adhdisabastard · 21/02/2021 15:08

Using it already awishes - it's not doing much as far as I can see but who knows how bad things would be without it!

Laser resurfacing X 3
Micro needling X 3

Carries on working after treatment, 3 days down time though as red faced and peely!
Then SPF 50 FOREVER!

adhdisabastard · 20/03/2021 01:48

Thanks awishes - I'll look into those!

I've asked this of my friend (dermatologist) every year for the past few years and so far her answer is still 'save your money and go for treatments'. Unfortunately the stuff that they can sell to individuals just isn't up to par with the devices that are used in derms offices.

I shall continue asking every year though in the hopes that one day the answer is 'buy X device'!

I have used Tret for years. The real game changer in reducing long-standing wrinkles and giving me child- like skin has been p50. Will never be without it.

trumpisaflump · 20/03/2021 08:59

@BigButtons really? I've been thinking about trying p50 for a while. Which one do you use?
I use tret and just started using Dr Dennis Gross peeling pads so I'll wait until the box of pads is finished.

squashyhat · 20/03/2021 09:06

An iron. Use with caution Grin

Popsy321 · 20/03/2021 09:09

Just get BOTOX and have done with it. It works a treat and nothing else even remotely compares.

BigButtons · 20/03/2021 09:46

@trumpisaflump I use the normal one without any letters after as my skin is no at all sensitive. I seriously have the most amazingly smooth skin now. Even my teen girls have commented.

trumpisaflump · 20/03/2021 11:08

@BigButtons thanks. I might just have to invest now and not wait for my DDG pads to finish.
And OP I would second those that say Botox and fillers. It's really the only way other than surgery to deal with deeper lines.

Cheesewiz · 20/03/2021 16:07

Is that the Biologique Recherche’s Lotions P50? Also looking at skin care, I don't have any wrinkles or lines yet but trying to prevent rather than deal with later.

Where do you get it from? I can't find it anywhere.

BigButtons · 20/03/2021 17:21

@Popsy321 you have to register on certain sites. I think the people I bought it through were beauty m? You have to fill in silly forms so that they can recommend a beauty regime . Don’t say you use tret( if you do). Once registered I emailed them and bought the p50. They were very helpful though. They always want people to start with the p50 W which is the mildest but I have rhino skin am am used to acids 🙂. Be aware that it is very costly but truly worth it. I am not one for spending ££££ on one product normally.

BigButtons · 20/03/2021 17:22

@Cheesewiz yes 🙂

Cheesewiz · 20/03/2021 17:45

Thanks......Oh my, I have just looked at the price on amazon!

BigButtons · 20/03/2021 17:49

No! Don’t buy it from Amazon- way overpriced. I bought mine for £67. It IS very expensive but I use 8 drops at a time so it will last ages. I saw a huge difference within a couple of days.

Cheesewiz · 20/03/2021 18:28

Thank you for the tip! Have already filled out the quiz and made an account. I haven't actually got any wrinkles yet but I want to prevent them!

You can’t prevent them! This has drastically reduced mine though. Wrinkles are part of being alive!
Popsy321 · 20/03/2021 21:01

I've tried filling in the forms, changing my answers each time but can only access the p50w, which isn't as strong.

BigButtons · 20/03/2021 23:51

Email them directly and say what you want to buy. They have to be cautious because it’s strong stuff. You have to be confident that your skin will tolerate it. Stronger is not necessarily better- it depends on your skin. Are you very used to strong acids? Because If not go with the W.
Chanelephant · 20/03/2021 23:58

Would someone please explain to me like I'm 5 what p50 is? Is it a brand or a product? I am terrified as I have started getting wrinkles on my forehead, they are always there now but not very deep. What is tret? What is DDG? Do any / all of these remove wrinkles like a peel or something? Thank you!!

trumpisaflump · 21/03/2021 09:19

@Chanelephant if I were you I'd take a look at the Caroline Hirons website or get her skincare book. Most of the products you've mentioned are really strong and I'd not advise using them until your skin has got used to acids etc.
