Something to sort my hair out that isn’t a permanent dye

Hi
I have naturally blond/light brown hair and keep being really tempted to reach for dye boxes. Then realise it’ll look crap! It is an ok colour but looks like it’s been badly dyed then grown out due to the sun bleaching it in summer. I want to somehow even it out and get a more vibrant glow (or something?) to it. Any ideas if there’s a product I could use or suggestion on dye colours that would sort it out than making it look a different colour? Pic attached hopefully. It looks better on this than in real life - this is straight out of bed. Once it’s flattened out and brushed it looks quite dark on top then very light at the ends.

I think your hair looks fabulous as it is.

Your hair looks lovely. Maybe try a Bleach London conditioner, they do a nice pearlescent one.

Have you tried a blue or purple toner conditioner or shampoo?

twolittleboysonetiredmum · 13/02/2021 16:38

Thanks but it doesn’t look like that normally - it’s really fine so any natural wave or body from sleeping on it goes once I’ve washed it. It really isn’t that bright either! Must be a good photo

It’s natural for blonde hair to be dark on top in winter and to have lighter ends from the summer. Your hair will lighten back up once winter is over and you can get back out side. If it bothers you, you could just get some highlights done to tone down the dark top.

I think it looks ace -perhaps brush it and send another pic if it's really not as great as it looks? I doubt it though. And I want your jumper!

A gloss like this could work

I agree with PP - if the photo isn’t a realistic representation of your hair, what was the point in posting it instead of an accurate one?

Use purple shampoo and leave it alone. It will look worse if you try to bleach it yourself. Wait for salons to reopen.

Also want the jumper Grin

Jackie - I guess as I’m lazy. I was writing the post whilst I remembered and just snapped it whilst I was doing it. I’ll get a more realistic every day one tomorrow

The colour of your roots and your lengths seem pretty similar, I don’t think it looks like badly grown out colour from the photo.

Maybe you can try to use the loreal colour sprays for temporary wash-out colour. You could either lighten your roots with the spray, or darken your lengths near the roots so there isn’t a harsh regrowth line

I am brunette so use a different shade but wonder if this would help

TableNiner . What Superdrug shade do you use. I think there are only two brunette shades and both lots of reviews seem to say they can end up a bit "red" which worries me. Apart from that they sound perfect.

How long before it washes out?
