Redness and heat on face - recommendations for skincare please!

I sometime get patches of flushed red skin on my cheeks and up towards my ears (sometimes lasts for hours) and this can often have quite an intense feeling of heat with it. I've been looking at these products which claim to reduce redness, calm heat and not irritate skin. I wouldn't say I have particularly sensitive skin and it isn't bumpy or prone to acne outbreaks. Has anyone tried any of these and would recommend? Or are there better products out there? Thanks

Rosalique

It is SPF 50 too. Lasts ages. It comes out green, but once rubbed in, gives the skin a golden glow tint.

I follow Freyja Barker the make up artist on Instagram, she raves about it. She has a discount code for 15% off.

I have the same, and Rosalique really does cover it. I use The Ordinary Azeliac acid with my moisturiser as well to try and calm things down

I get this a lot, it’s so crap! Usually linked to having sulphite heavy wine, tomatoes, hormones or heat changes. Do you know why it’s happening to you? Sounds like rosacea but best to check with gp as there are treatments.

I like the ren anti-redness products, particularly the face mask which I put on when drying my hair - it creates a bit of a barrier which can stop the flushing.

Other products I like are the Elemis lime blossom make-up remover and lavender toner. They are really mild and don’t strip the skin. Caudalie do a really nice natural foaming cleanser too.

Thank you so much for the replies, I will contact the GP too but it would be nice to have something which could sooth/disguise the redness a little. My Mum has had rosacea for many years. I'm not sure what causes my flare ups, it often starts with my ear weirdly and then spreads across my cheeks.

I'll definitely take a look at the Rosalique and other suggestions.

I'd recommend the Dr Jart Cicapair range. The gel cream in a tube is incredibly soothing and calming and the tiger grass colour correcting treatment neutralises redness really well.

It's available on Lookfantasic and also via ASOS.

Thanks for this thread btw op & @MrPanks I’m getting some of that Rosalique in preparation for spring (wahoo) as have been looking for a good factor 50 tinted moisturiser!

MrPanks · 13/02/2021 14:43

@AgnesNaismith, no problem, I got it as a high SPF tinted moisturiser too. I don’t particularly have redness, but I find it pleasant to use and gives me a bit more of a healthy look than my usual Clinique City Block SPF 40. Nice for the winter months.
