As part of my anti-ageing strategy (Grin) I want to get more flexible. Can anyone recommend an online programme I can buy?

Thanks

Yoga. I am 62 and been doing yoga almost every day for 6 years. Made a big difference. I use this yoga with Adrienne

Definitely yoga. I also like Adrienne and I also like the Downdog app, which a friend recommended. It’s good because you choose the time, style, body area to focus on etc.

If you go to Reddit they have a flexibility community there called r/flexibility.

They have a stickied post with absolutely loads of YT videos for purely flexibility/stretching routines. Really great, especially if you're not into yoga.

I did yoga for years but barely progressed! I am really stiff and think I probably need something more targeted to improve hip and back flexibility in particular.

Thanks Elspeth - I'll look that up.

Pilates, check out Lottie Murphy on YouTube.

Dead lifting helped me with hip and back tightness which affect my forward flexion.
You will need weights and a trainer for a while but I took it up alongside yoga and I can almost touch my toes (I couldn't even do that as a child). Depending on where you live you may be able to do one on one outdoor sessions with a PT.
For lockdown I took up running and stretch before and after.
I'll never be a gymnast but the improvement is very noticeable.

Thanks Banaltra.

I've definitely got worse since lockdown - homeschooling and working makes me feel like I never move and have become some sort of cyborg with my desk chair. Grin

I like body balance on Les mills. There are are specific stretching work outs.

I'm using Human2.0 - I just look at their exercise and routines on insta and YouTube.

. I'm also having to do what I call my old lady exercises. Lower back is quite stiff.
CrispsTasteSoGood · 09/02/2021 11:20

Thanks everyone I will check them out!

My osteopath says I have the best hip flexibility of any of her clients! And I have 2 dodgy hips

Yoga definitely. The downdog app a pp mentioned means you can specifically target flexibility workouts.

Anything to improve flexibility is going to be an almost everyday, continuous process though
