Invisibobble?

MsMiaWallace · 07/02/2021 20:32

I have thick curly hair. Need to put it up in a bun for work.
Are invisibobble's any good?
Been looking but they're a bit pricey.

They're a couple of quid in Superdrug or boots. They're fine, nothing special.

I like mine. Last ages too. I bought a three pack a year ago, wear them most days and still have one in the packet unused (the other two are in rotation)

bellagogosdead · 07/02/2021 21:24

I don't think they hold tightly enough for a bun.

TierFourTears · 07/02/2021 21:26

I dont get on with them - cant get enough tension in them to hold things still. But they arent expensive so are worth a go.

I like the ones without a join in them - think they are called rolled hair bobbles. I've stopped snapping bobbles since I started using that style.
Kirby grips (wavy side to scalp) also help hold the bun and end of ponytail in place.

I like them, they are a lot better than regular bobbles. They do stretch after a while though and I’ve had one or two snap. But I reckon you’d get at least 6 month use out of one, plus there’s more than one in the packet. So I’d say, yes, worth buying.

Auldspinster · 07/02/2021 21:30

If they stretch, stick them in warm water and they'll shrink back. I buy the primark version in bulk.

MistressWeatherwax1 · 07/02/2021 22:26

I have very thick hair and didn't get on with the original size invisibobble but I tried the slim version a few weeks ago and it's been great. It makes my ponytail sit much better, look bouncier and lasts all day without the usual constant readjusting.

NaughtyNell · 07/02/2021 23:37

I have very thick coarse past boob hair and I usei nvisibobble but the extra strength ones

Ivy48 · 07/02/2021 23:39

I’ve had both the invisibobble and primark ones. The invisi ones are thinner, great for ponytails. But I have a lot of hair and like the primark ones as the bobble is thicker and I’m not gutted if the snap as it’s 6 for £2. I know Tesco have a version along with boots/Superdrug and other stores. As others say I pop them in hot water to shrink back when they stretch, often I just Chuck it in the bath when I take my hair out for a wash and it’s back to normal

JackSparrowsTribute · 07/02/2021 23:55

Do they cause hair breakage? Somehow I think the plastic would be hard on hair.

ZaraW · 08/02/2021 04:12

I have thick hair. They don't hold will and slip down.

Inkpaperstars · 08/02/2021 04:39

I have thick wavy/curly hair and I didn’t really like them because they seemed to get stuck or tangled in the hair and be hard to get out. My hair is very tangly though.
