Hello!

What products do you use to double cleanse? How do you double cleanse 🤔?

Currently using Tropic Clear Skies but open to suggestions! I have dry/dehydrated sensitive skin and hormonal ance.

I use Body Shop Camomile cleansing balm for first cleanse. It's fantastic for taking off make up. Second cleanse is Superdrug vitamin E hot cloth cleanser. I use a flannel or one of Beauty Pie's double sided cloths.

I was so bad at washing my face (guilty of only using face wipes for far too long). I now use Clinique cleansing balm which is the make up remover and then use the 3 step routine, so it's facial soap as the second cleanse. 3 weeks in and my face feels so much better for it, I was really worried about breaking out.

I use the elemis nourishing omega-rich cleansing oil for my first cleanse which feels amazing and gets rid of stubborn make up like a dream. Then 2nd cleanse is with verso acne deep cleanse which is a salicylic acid cleanser.

donttouchmyhair · 07/02/2021 08:52

Oh and I use a hot flannel to remove the oil cleanser, this helps open up your pores for a deeper second cleanse too.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 07/02/2021 08:54

I use Jordan Samuel Skin Aftershow as a first cleanse then Medik8 Surface Radiance cleanser or DDG AlphaBeta as a second cleanse.

The rule of thumb with double cleansing is your first cleanse should be an oil or a balm that’ll get the make up off and your second cleanse should be something to treat your skin type with so I use a gel wash for acne prone skin but if you were dry a cream cleanser would be better.

A double cleanse is good for an oily skin or make up wearers. If you have dry sensitive skin I would maybe only use Tropics smoothing cleanser for example rather the clear skies daily. Then maybe once or twice a week double cleanse with both.

Whilst clear skies is great for acne daily use might be to harsh for you skin.

Ostryga · 07/02/2021 08:56

I use either REN jelly cleanser or Oskia Renaissance as the first cleanse, and then FaceTheory vitamin c cream cleanser as the second. With a cotton flannel.

I have about 50 cleansers (obsessed!) but this is my favourite combo.

BestWatcherInTheUnit · 07/02/2021 08:58

I just use pure sunflower oil twice. Once to remove make up and once to clean the skin. That's it. My skin is so much better since I started.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 07/02/2021 10:00

I use almond oil for first cleanse with a pink make up removing cloth from Primark. Then the superdrug radience hot cloth cleanser. I sometimes buy a different cleanser but l always go back to the superdrug one. My skin is oily but sensitive. Anything that foams strips my skin instantly. I've been double cleansing with almond oil since lockdown 1 as l had a bottle of it and many people have commented on how lovely my skin looks on the many Teams meetings l've had.

Cornetttttto · 07/02/2021 11:52

I use a dove beauty bar, twice.

Hi there I don't really wear makeup during the day at the moment would I still need to double cleanse?

tappitytaptap · 07/02/2021 13:12

Micellar water for first cleanse to remove makeup and products, then a hot cloth cleanser with a flannel (I like Aldi Lacura one although I can’t find it in store or online so have just ordered the Superdrug vit E one).

tappitytaptap · 07/02/2021 13:13

Caroline Hirons says do it if wearing make up or spf, very occasionally I don’t wear make up and then I skip the micellar water stage.
seensome · 07/02/2021 13:17

No7 cleansing balm and a micro fibre flannel.

FetchezLaVache · 07/02/2021 13:20

I make my own cleansing balm, which I follow with Waitrose hot cloth cleanser.

Carycy · 07/02/2021 18:01

Cheap super drug cream cleanser ( simply pure) for sensitive skin. Followed by cerave smoothing cleanser for dry rough bumpy skin. It has salycilic acid in it. But as it washes off is much gentler than using acid toners which I rarely do now.

HappyBluebird · 07/02/2021 18:03

Does everyone who uses them, just keep a pile of flannels where they cleanse, and then just wash them after each use?

Shampops · 07/02/2021 18:22

I use a fresh flannel every evening, let it dry out after I've used it and then chuck them in the washing machine with my white towels once a week.

Carycy · 07/02/2021 18:24

I have a million in a drawer. Take one in the shower with me. I cleanse in the shower, then use the same cloth for my body. Don’t reuse it. Much more hygienic than a separate shower body pouff. They are grim.
If doing it at night on just my face at the sink I put in the shower cubicle for the next morning.

ShowMeTheSugar · 07/02/2021 18:28

HappyBluebird I use one cloth that evening and then the same one the next morning. I cut cloths in half when I buy them though as I don't really ever use a full face cloth and this way I have twice as many.

HappyBluebird · 07/02/2021 23:06

Okay thank you-I don't own a flannel! I have reusable make up remover pads that I chuck in the washing basket after each use, I suppose they'll do-I'll buy some more too. I wanted to stop buying cotton wool for environmental reasons. I also use up old pjamas cut into squares and things like that-is that okay do we think?

SpeckledyHen · 08/02/2021 07:18

Waitrose Pure facial oil followed by Superdrug Vit E hit cloth cleanser using IKEA white flannels . I have dozens in baskets in the bathrooms and they are used by all the family and go in the ‘hot wash’ with the white face towels .

user1471523870 · 08/02/2021 13:26

First I rub coconut oil on my face and I remove it with a warm damp flannel. Then I wash my face with a Vit C facewash from Boots.
I use an exfoliator on top every other night.

StepOutOfLine · 08/02/2021 13:30

I chop and change, but like an oil cleanser to remove makeup and then a cream cleanser to cleanse.
Prefer a very soft flannel to a muslin.

lazylinguist · 08/02/2021 13:46

I use Aldi's version of Cleanse and Polish, massage into face, rinse off, then wash remains off with normal soap and water. I only use the muslin cloth once or twice a week, as I find it unnecessary and a bit harsh to do every day.
