Curls

Hi
I've tried curly girl but to no real success. Getting a bit fed up with the Facebook groups saying don't do this and you never need to refresh when I wake up looking like a scarecrow!!

I've been straightening my hair for forever and like it straight but sometimes like it curly, are there any products which help promote curl but stop frizz?
Thanks

I really like cantu curl activator, but you only need a tiny amount.

What hair type do you have?

I have found my hair has needed protein and far far more conditioning than I ever thought possible to avoid frizz. Mine is a mixture of 2A to 2C.

I've spent my life thinking it was fine and shouldn't be weighed down and it turns out this was wrong

I can now just wet it a bit each morning to get curl back when it isn't a wash day.

I haven't found CG very successful either and I left the main fb group as it was really weird and terrifying!!

I've recently found Olew curl cream which I find works quite well for me and I've been refreshing with kids detangler conditioning spray which seems to work quite well to reduce the massive frizz! I just spray it whenever it needs it and run my fingers through .

If your hair is prone to frizz then it's hard to eradicate it completely but treating it well helps

There are lots of threads on here about curly hair you could search

Also I like Manes by Mel on YouTube

I don't like the CG method either.

What's been working for me (after years of the dreaded frizz), is washing every 2-3 days with Herbal Essences coconut shampoo and conditioner. Then I apply a Moroccan Oil hair mask (stupidly expensive, I bought it from Voodou and I don't even get my hair cut there! But it lasts forever!) but I don't leave it on for long - just a minute or so. Rinse, then tie it up in a towel turban. Brush it out and flick out water, squeeze the curls together, and kind of massage my scalp. Then I pineapple bun it overnight to dry. It's the only thing that's ever worked for a long period of time for me!

There's a good group on FB called Curly Rebels. It's a more realistic version of curly girl. I've got loads of tips from it.
