Advice for how to prevent mask acne?

I will soon need to be wearing the disposable face masks all day everyday at work and I'm dreading the mask acne. I already have bad acne on my chin that is hormonal and even wearing a mask for 5 minutes when popping into a shop leads me to have more breakouts so I'm nervous. It's not a vanity thing but rather that my breakouts are always those painful under the skin ones that make your face feel bruised.

  • What makeup can I wear under my mask? Does anyone have any recommendations for a lightweight non-occlusive concealer?
  • Anything I should be doing on top of my usual skincare? I'm already using retinaldehyde and niacinamide and the CeraVe hydrating cleanser but I'm thinking of switching to the salicylic acid one instead? I think I'll start skipping my SPF as I'll be inside all day anyway and I think my SPF makes my skin oilier.
  • Are there any kinds of face powders or anything I can use to try and prevent that horrible humid feeling when wearing a mask?

Thank you in advance!

Sorry I can't help, but I'd love an answer. I'm now having to wear a disposable mask for 7 hours a day and my skin is protesting so badly. Like you, even a mask on for 5 mins to drop into Asia has brought on 3 more painful spots with some pus.
Its really upsetting, I've never had problem skin and now I'm having to wear a mask day my chin is erupting all over, its painful and when they are close to my lips they make them look all misshapen.
Actually considering looking for a new job where I can work from home as I'm already at breaking point as a TA.

Asda, not Asia. Fuck you autocorrect. Although a holiday to Asia is tempting.......oh if only.

The only thing that helps my chin is to not wear any make up in that area. I usually get a few pimples at my time of the month, which I would normally cover with concealer, and then apply powder to my forehead, nose and chin, but since I’ve stopped doing this my skin has been heaps better.
(I do still wear under eye concealer and mascara though, otherwise I look like a walking corpse)

Double cleanse every evening. Don't bother with makeup on your lower face if wearing a mask. I'm now just wearing under eye concealer and eye makeup.

I wish I could ditch the make up but can't as my skin is now bad. I wear makeup every day, its part of who I am and part of the mask I need to get out of the house.

I have started double cleansing, but even today without makeup on to give my skin a rest I can feel yet more starting to hurt.

Its so bloody depressing.

I’m suffering badly with this as I wear a mask for most of the day at work, and I know have large uncomfortable and unsightly spots on my chin as a result. I’m 51 with otherwise decent skin. I’ve been applying Zineryt and keeping make up away from that area but otherwise no real answer.

Clinisept spray has really helped my maskne.

I'd literally tried everything going then came across this on a random Instagram post.

I use twice a day and barely get any spots now! My skin is dry and sensitive btw.
