Alternatives to Dr Martens

I am struggling a bit with my feet at the moment. I broke my toe at the beginning of the first lockdown last year it still hurts when I'm walking for any length of time. Plus I think I have plantar fasciitis too. So I thought I'd be better off with a quality, supportive boot.
With this in mind DH bought me a pair of Dr Martens for Christmas. However, they are just too uncomfortable to even try and break in so are going to dd2!
What should I buy instead? I like the look of both the lace up and Chelsea boot style but have no idea what is good and isn't. I don't usually spend large amounts on myself and don't want to make another expensive mistake!
Thank you

I recently bought a pair of fly boots. They are very comfy! Mine are very chunky Chelsea boot style

I’m not sure what size you are but my DMs from the kids range are much more comfortable than the adult ones. The pascal DMs are soft leather as well and they’ve never rubbed. I understand though that they are an expensive mistake!

I’ve got a pair of Uggs that are really comfortable. They aren’t the usual style though, they’re a bit more structured.

Anything from Skechers will be comfortable and supportive, not necessarily as stylish as others but they do have a range of boots including lace up and Chelsea.

I only wear Skechers now as got fed up of painful shoes, I do size down though as they tend to come up big so usually an 8 and wear a 7 with them.
