Where to buy bras that aren't from M&S

longtompot · 04/02/2021 15:15

I usually buy my bras from M&S. They usually always fit well, but the last lot I bought didn't wash well and the outer seems to have shrunk and the padding is rucked up, so unless I do some shifting about, I have wrinkly boobs.
I usually buy their two packs either in black or white, occasionally patterned, but more often not. I also only buy cotton and slightly padded underwired ones. Any suggestions where to buy, of comparable pricing and sizing? Many thanks.

I always buy from Bravissimo but I have big boobs. A work colleague swears by Primark bras and won’t buy anywhere else.

Elomi are fantastic

Brastop are great, especially if you do the BOB sizing thing (loads of previous threads about this). They usually have some in the sale, but they have free returns and are usually quick about refunding. Several times I've ordered about 10 bras and only kept 2 after trying them on.

Next for wired, h&m for non wired.

Brastop for my last ones i think

john lewis as the lovely lady fitted me and i found i was trying to wear totally the wrong size. obviously fitting is off at the moment but my john lewis bras have lasted ages with delicate machine wash

Brastop, Figleaves.
I don't rate Bravissimo; I think they're very overpriced for the quality. M&S have gone downhill and their sizing is peculiar.

M&S miss out FF so of you are FF or larger you need to go a cup size bigger than usual

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/02/2021 17:24

I go to an independent retailer.

CrotchetyQuaver · 04/02/2021 17:39

We have a lovely independent department store (when it's open) that has an excellent lingerie dept with a good range of larger sizes. I am so looking forward to treating myself to some new bras from there!

Next are brilliant

I've been getting excellent bras from Lingerie Outlet. It works best if you know your size in the particular brand, because based on reviews, their exchange/refund process isn't great. But I always buy Chantelle, and I'm happy to wear pink instead of black if it costs £5.99 instead of £54.99.

Thank you all. Lots to look at. I've looked at Bravissimo before but they don't do a c cup (I'm 38c, I think? I can't remember now! )

Please measure yourself using the Boob or Bust method.

Bravissimo

longtompot · 04/02/2021 23:45

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz Just had a look. That's quite a few measurements! I shall give it a go.
I did measure myself again a few years ago when I bought my current bras, and the method I used assumes you wear your bra on the biggest fastening. I'd always bought bras based on the smallest fastening. I was wearing a 40c but the cup was far too big, and actually after I tried on the 'new' ones, I could see how they should have fitted.

Yes - always wear on the loosest fixing so that when the band starts to feel less snug you can come in a hook.

And don't do the M&S habit of adding inches to the band size.
