At this time of year i always struggle with my hair, it goes so dry (and my scalp too) but also very frizzy and no matter what i do i cant seem to stop it. ive even tried using less heat, not wrapping it in a towel etc and nothing works

can anyone suggest any products that would work?
shampoos/ conditioners/ treatments/ serums

Mine is the same and am currently both leaving warm coconut oil in it overnight and Garnier Banana Hair mask as a daily leave in conditioner. My hair is v thirsty: i need to shove moisture in it daily. Yours may be the same.

I tried an overnight coconut oil mask the other night and nothing seemed to change, if anything my scalp has been more dry/itchy. I read about the garnier hair food products though. just if i put too much product in it it will go greasy too, its a nightmare

My daughter suffers with a dry scalp this time of year too. This may not solve your other hair problems but the ginger shampoo from Body Shop solved her dry scalp issue brilliantly! Amazing stuff!

yes i also saw about this online when i googled it, will give this a try! i think the usual anti dandruff shampoos (head and shoulders) dont really help.

Sebamed baby shampoo is my back up when the BS ginger shampoo is out of stock.

Make sure you don't ever use silicone products as basically you're just laminating your hair and it can't get proper nourishment.

I've found that drying my hair with a rotating brush (babyliss) really smooths it. I also apply a tiny amount of conditioner when it's dried , just rubbed into hands then smoothed over, really helps.

I had one of the heated styling/hairdryer brushes for Christmas and I style it once at the start of the week and then don't have to use any more heat throughout the week which helps, is silicone the same as sulphates?

Silicone is a type of plastic (not the same as sulphates). It adds a lovely shiny coating, but when you add heat to that it literally laminates your hair.

Lots of hair products that make your hair shine contain silicone. The best way to get it to be more shiny naturally is to use products that will be absorbed into the hair, such as oils. It will take longer but also will not continue to cause damage.
