tipping hairdressers - how much?

how much are you sposed to tip hairdressers?

just for a straightforward cut

i completely forgot last time so i need to get it right

I gave my hairdresser a tenner's tip today.

Can't be that bad, Olivia. DH almost divorced me when I admitted what my hair straightening last Saturday. I nearly fainted at the cash desk. (And then handed over £35 in tips...)

I also thought you didn't have to tip the owner/manager.

And 12yeargap - £35 in tips?? Slightly OTT, no? Stop it at once! Or they'll expect that from the rest of us too.
