Nicest scented shower gel

Bluebellberry · 02/02/2021 14:03

I love a good shower gel or creme, and I want to try some new ones. Whats the nicest scented ones you have used? Are Molten Brown worth the money? Any recommendations welcome!

@TheSockMonster I was wondering if the L'Occitane almond oil left the shower floor slippy too.

Hoping to find out before I purchase.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 03/02/2021 08:46

Soaper Duper is my favourite every day shower gel. The Shea butter one is creamy and lovely and the Passionfruit one is a lovely wake up. They stock them in Boots.

@TheSockMonster

I've been using the l'occitaine almond oil shower get for nearly a year and have not noticed it being slippery underfoot. As I read your comment, I remembered that I had been very careful at first, but a year later had forgotten all about that concern.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't but really ah by noticed any 'slipperiness'. I realise that's not that much help. I just haven't found any problem.

Un Air de l'Antan are French made but they have a shop in London which dispatches. Available from Amazon. Beautiful fragrances from the south of France, and lovely prices too.
I wish I could find some really nice body powder, I've tried to give it up but just can't. Hard to find nice ones these days unless you're looking for l'air de old lady.

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 03/02/2021 09:42

Elemis Neroli blossom is gorgeous

Frodont · 03/02/2021 09:44

I use bar soap now and the French savon Patchouli is my current fave. You can get it from amazon

Gastropod · 03/02/2021 09:46

Annother vote for Korres here - really long lasting, but not overpowering or unnatural.
I had just started using the Vanilla Cinnamon a while ago and remember being in a meeting and smelling the most amazing fragrance... before realising it was me! Couldn't believe it lasted so well - longer than my perfume.

LBB2020 · 03/02/2021 09:59

@Gastropod I agree the Korres vanilla cinnamon is divine, it reminds me of my favourite perfume which is diptyque l’eau duelle! The fig is also gorgeous. I last bought them from Look Fantastic but they all seem to be out of stock now Sad

Bluebellberry · 03/02/2021 10:41

Thank you for all the recommendations, I'm not sure which to start with, they all sound lovely!

That’s good to know. I like their hand creams. I will have to hide it from the DC and DH though...

Deathraystare · 04/02/2021 18:17

I don't normally like sweet smelling things but the Soap and Glory one mentioned - Sugar crush smells very refreshing.

I also loved Molten Brown Ylang Ylang but I am using soap now so it is Lush -Karma.

Pinkfreesias · 04/02/2021 18:47

Farmologie's pink grapefruit body wash smells beyond luscious! It comes from the maker of Child's Farm so isn't harsh on the skin.
Otherwise, good old Radox do a gorgeous orange flavoured one.

AlwaysLatte · 04/02/2021 20:01

I use bar soap now in an effort to reduce the plastic, and use a lovely scent afterwards instead.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 04/02/2021 20:22

For everyday - Original source Lime.

Molton Brown is lovely but I only get it at Christmas and birthdays.

cacaboudin · 05/02/2021 19:37

Rose Jam from Lush. I just splurged on a massive bottle.

I also love REN Sea Kelp and Magnesium.

Ooh, Korea Japanese Rose too.

olivo · 05/02/2021 20:14

Molten brown rhubarb and rose or pink pepper or new muddled plum....last all day.
Also love Dermalogica conditioning body wash.

lockdownalli · 05/02/2021 20:47

Agree Nivea Sunshine Love is amazing and very cheap.

I like Body Shop Spa of the World shower gels, and use Roger & Gallet soap sometimes.

PajamasnoDramas · 06/02/2021 12:59

If you don’t want to splash out on Molton Brown Waitrose do some really lovely own brand shower gels that smell great. I have used one with an amber scent and another with sea kelp, both lovely.

devildeepbluesea · 06/02/2021 13:06

From a company local to me:

goodwash.co.uk/product/sports-wash/

It's divine and lasts ages - I can smell it on me in my next shower.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 06/02/2021 13:30

@TheSockMonster

Original Source Lime is cheap and smells divine. Unfortunately it’s like paint stripper on my sensitive skin, so I have to let DH use it and just sniff him when he comes out.

Does the L’Occitane Almond Oil leave the shower floor slippery?

Is there anything that smells divine but is also ok for sensitive skin?

no slippyness at all....it emulsifies with the water and is lovely on skin.

it does a weird stiff claggy thing the very second you swoosh it onto yourself, but apart from that it is silky smooth and gorgeous. I used it with a sponge on my upperarms when I first had it and it really does for those nasty raised pimply areas you can get....haven't had them at all since I first started using it.

dd loves the smell of it, but that initial feel of it freaks her out, but she doesn't like touching velvet or chalk either.

and yes, keep it well away from others especially those who like to lather! .......I hide it when my ma visits, she used up about an inch of it " ...that shower stuff smells lovely but it doesn't lather up very well"

you only need a tiny puddle in your hand!

fruitpastille · 06/02/2021 14:00

I love the Senspa shower gel that Waitrose stocks - the Relax one in purple/lilac packaging. It's over a fiver normally but often has a third off. Anyway I tell myself that it lasts much longer than a bottle of wine.

TeacherABC · 06/02/2021 14:22

Pears or Dove Soap, smells lovely and no plastic wasteSmile

thecatisaliveandwell · 09/02/2021 22:27

I love The Body Shop's rose shower gel. It smells heavenly, and makes getting up in the morning worthwhile.

I also like M&S Apothecary range Calm shower gel and Lush Twilight shower jelly, if I am showering before bed.

Once you get the hang of using the jelly, it's quite simple. It also lasts well.

AdoraBell · 09/02/2021 22:32

Another vote for L’Occitane almond oil. I have to keep it hidden away to stop teen DD using it up.

Hottielottie · 09/02/2021 22:39

Soap & Glory shower gels. Very sweet smelling, lathers fab, leaves skin deliciously soft & scented. It's the only shower gel that keeps my skin nice & soft during winter. Plus a bottle lasts ages!

Also philosophy shower gels, only downside is rather expensive at £20 a bottle.

I love sweet girly scents Smile
