Hi
Now I'm in my late 40s my skin is showing all the damage I made not using skincare when I was younger.
I have sun spots, pigmentation and dehydrated and dull skin
I'd love bright, clear skin that looks plump and hydrated
I've just started using Murad retinol and also use Elemis Marine Cream
I feel that I desperately need more than just that
Any help will be welcomed with open arms
Thank you 👍

I would invest in a vitamin c serum, OP. It will help with pigmentation and brightness.

I've been using dermalogica products and Elizabeth Arden retinol capsules to try to improve my aging skin. Then, one of the children I teach, got me box of Nivea stuff for Christmas. There was a dry skin honey and almond mask in there. It leaves my skin looking plump and amazingly hydrated. I've tracked it down in Asda where it's £1 for a pack of two masks.

Elemis also do a fruit peel mask called ‘Papaya Enzyme Peel’ which is so great. It basically ‘dissolves’ the dead skin cells away & leaves glowing bright skin behind. I love it so much.

For plump and dewy skin I swear by hyaluronic acid in a serum. I use it in the day mixed with a moisturiser.

prescription strength retin-a at night, vitamin c serum in the mornings, some plumping and hydrating serums, and sunscreen every day to prevent future skin damage. And drink loads of water. And eat lots of salmon.

Are there any brands you can recommend? 👍🌸

I'm back again looking for some brand recommendations
My pigmentation is really getting me down, I'd love to be able to go out n not wear foundation, but I don't have a choice
I have sun damage and age spots, plus my skin needs brightening

Thank you

For pigmentation you need prescription grade skincare, check out dermatica or skin and me. Using retinol from dermatica has made a big difference to the pigmentation on my forehead. Have a look at Dr Natalia Spierings on on Instagram, she co founded dermatica and has loads of good advice.

Can you afford to spend about £500? If so then go and see a dermatologist who will be able to prescribe Tretinoin/Obagi or similar. It is commitment, but if it’s suitable for you and you follow it you should see a massive improvement in less than 6 months. I also recommend Obagi vitamin c serum which does not need a prescription.

I had super bad pigmentation due to age but also getting exposed to sun while pregnant (it always gives me large sun spots).
A high street skin clinic said there was nothing to do, except an expensive type of cream I can't remember the name of, and that I didn't purchase.

Two years on, I no longer have spots. The difference has been the consistent use of acids and retinoids products. They made the spots fade slowly but a little bit every day for months and months.

Unfortunately I don't have lots of money ☹️ so it'll need to be products I can purchase in the high st or internet
I've started using murad retinol and a glycolic acid toner
Any other brands?
