Best at home hair dye

I’ve used Garnier Nutrisse for years but it doesn’t last very long especially since I had my DD.

I’ve had it done at the hairdressers but obviously can’t go at the moment and need some hair TLC.

I’m a medium brown and I need it to cover some grey 😊. Any recommendations?

I am a big fan of Daniel Field Water Colour dye. It does not lighten hair but it does cover white/greys with a darker shade. As there's no peroxide (or ppd, ammonia etc) it is kind to the hair with minimal damage. I do have to condition afterwards but before I discovered it my hair was wrecked by box dyes so it really has been a lifesaver (or at least a hairsaver). It took a few goes before I mastered it, as the colour didn't properly 'take' at first, but now I pre-wash with a clarifying shampoo so nothing gets between my hair and the dye. And I leave it on for the max amount of time too. Hope it works for you too!

I used John Frieda mousse one for years and was pretty happy with it. Then I decided to go slightly lighter and changed to a L’Oréal excellence one which I like even more. There’s a shampoo stage after you rinse out the colour and my hair feels great after wards. It’s also really inexpensive!
