Hush - couple of questions

I’m looking to order a few new bits as my clothes are all looking tired & worn (as am I!). Since wfh I have become scruffy & have no idea how to look nice anymore with clothes. I think this is also due to my age, 45, I feel too old for some shops but not ready for others.

I’ve been looking at Hush and quite like the casual style but it seems expensive, for me anyway.
Just wanted some opinions on it really - is it worth £30 for a tshirt that looks similar to a much cheaper one in H&M? And £50 for joggers?

I want to start buying fewer clothes but better quality that will last well. Do the Hush clothes last well?

Scamp and Dude had totally fallen off my radar but I remember seeing the owner with the clothes at a friends school summer festival years back and really liking them.

Hush gets a bit of a bashing on MN.
Some of it is beautiful quality and has lasted years, T-shirt's are not so great and some of their knitwear ( fine knits) not so great.
I've had plenty of dresses/skirts/sweatshirts/joggers that have been great.

Not sure about Hush getting a bashing. There are so many threads with people loving it. Not so much now. The only people that seem to love it are bloggers who push it as they get freebies.

I just googled scamp and dude... am I missing something? It's like adult sized children's clothes...

Also I used to really like Hush but agree the quality is shite and the sizing is insane. I'd likely still pay New Look prices for it but not the ridiculous amounts they ask.

As other posters have said, poor quality and expensive. I bought a t shirt that lost its shape after the 1st wash.

I've got some MV leggings and really like them - they don't roll down. Have got and like a pair of Amie joggers (sale) but no way are they worth £50.

thecatisaliveandwell · 09/02/2021 22:44

I think that Hush are overrated and definately overpriced. I bought a longline relaxed fit black top from there recently......it is a terrible fluff magnet and after a few washes, it looks like an old rag. A similar top I bought fromM&S is much better quality, and only cost £9.50.

MabelMoo23 · 10/02/2021 11:29

Scamp and Dude have extortionate delivery charges as they use a fulfilment company plus you have to pay for returns as well

So I only ever buy for my kids when there is a 20% off, as basically it’s covering the ridiculous £6.99 postage charge

Oddbutnotodd · 10/02/2021 11:43

They are good at marketing but the quality is not great for the money. Try looking for sustainable brands. I’ve found John Lewis own brand t shirts to be better quality. Also agree that basic cotton jeans and dresses from Sainsbury’s are good. Uniqlo is good for wool jumpers and layers
