Smart trousers (black) - any advice on where to look?

I need them for something coming up soon and don't have time to go around loads of shops so hoping someone can help me narrow it down a bit - my main problem is that often jeans/trousers are too loose at the waist for me - waist is narrow compared to hips! I usually buy jeans from Gap (long & lean).

I'm about a size 12, need a longish length, budget about £50 max.

And don't want turn-ups....

TIA

Uniqlo - black woollen for £25. They are def narrower at waist then some others. Well that's my excuse for having to hold my breath when doing them up. Nice wide leg.

Gap? Next?

Pannacotta · 30/10/2007 13:54

Try Principles, their trousers look good for the money, they are usually v well cut for high st IMO.

GrapefruitMoon · 30/10/2007 15:56

No Uniqlo near me and Gap or Principles would mean a bit of a trip..... plus Next jeans at least have the afore-mentioned loose-at-waist problem.....

Any other suggestions?

Debenhams? Oasis? Dorothy Perkins?
These, plus Uniqlo all have on-line ordering

M&S; Monsoon; Topshop - Next do a petite range - not sure if it's are any good though?

GrapefruitMoon · 30/10/2007 16:15

Petite, moi?

I'm just going to have to go out and try some on aren't I? (Unless there is someone else with the same body shape as me who knows where to look? [hopeful emoticon])

or order lots, try them onthe comfort of your own home and send back the ones you don't want. I do this all the time.
