Hardwearing slippers

Babysharkdoodoodood · 27/01/2021 21:01

My feet are terrible on slippers. I'm lucky if they last 6 months. Doesn't help that I haven't been to a chiropodist in over a year now. I can't wear socks. I hate wearing them inside, whereas I can kick slippers off when I sit down.

All I want is a supported foot as I have PF (plantar fasciitis) and a nice lining to keep the tootsies warm. I have some lovely ones from Amazon atm but the sole lining has already started to wear out. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076F45RSK/ref=ppxyoodtbbsearchasinn_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Got them in September Sad

The leather type mules last but not warm.

Budget is up to £60

I have mahabis summer weight slippers they are really supportive and still going strong after about 18 months daily wear. I have fallen arches, wide feet and a bad back and these have really helped.

Moshulu

Birkenstock felt Boston clogs, mine have lasted years and years. Keep your eye on the price, they do come down sometimes.

Sew3stitch · 28/01/2021 06:28

I had some toms that lasted 2 years of daily use. Including nipping outside in them to put bins out etc as they were hard soled. Could have got longer out of them, just the fabric parts were looking a bit worn but still fully functional. It was these: www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/6/2948006311

Currently got some homeys but only had since Christmas so can't comment on how hard-wearing they are but they are comfy.

Wiredforsound · 28/01/2021 06:31

Fly Flot. They really helped with my plantar fasciitis. Very hardwearing and comfortable.

Caspianberg · 28/01/2021 06:35

Living kitzbuehel or giesswein. I have literally just replaced mine after 6-7 years.

StepOutOfLine · 28/01/2021 06:38

Celtic & Co.
I have PF and couldn't believe the utter bliss of putting my feet into these after years of getting through about 6 pairs of the £5 foam ones from Matalan/Primark/M&S etc.
They're almost 3 years old now and good as new. I bought everyone a pair for Christmas.

Cooloncraze · 28/01/2021 07:17

I second Giesswein. You get 10% off your first order if you subscribe so mine were under £50.
Much much better than mahabis which I’ve had previously and aren’t that supportive and look quite crap after a while.

LaBelleEpoque · 28/01/2021 07:41

Another vote here for flyflot. I've only had mine a few weeks so can't tell how hard wearing they might be but they are very comfy and supportive (also have PF)

I have some gumbies that were recommended to me on here, I have only had them a month or so, but they really are warm and comfy. They have removable insoles which provide a bit of arch support, or you could swap them out for your own. The sole is like a piece of tyre ( but nicer) so i cant see them wearing out in a hurry.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 28/01/2021 15:59

Thanks for the suggestions. Will have a good look when I've finished this set of nights. Feeling brain dead atm.

Another vote for Celtic and Co. I have two pairs - love that

SophocIestheFox · 28/01/2021 21:03

Thirding Celtic and Co, I have the mules with backs and they are just bliss- feet well supported in a hard sole, and they keep feet at exactly the right temperature always. They might be top end of your budget though.

starsinyourpies · 28/01/2021 22:19

I have Fitflop ones and they are really comfy.

kirkandpetal · 29/01/2021 00:10

I have these ones by Toms. 2 years in and they are still going strong. Not the most stylish and a bit grannyish but who cares!

Babysharkdoodoodood · 29/01/2021 18:34

I got these in the end, in blue. Bit old lady, but who cares. And cheap enough that I can buy another pair if they wear out.

Another vote for Celtic, but the mules with backs cost nearer £90 than £60. They last for years though and are brilliantly comfortable and keep your feet warm in winter & cool in summer.
