Wellies for narrow feet

Any recommendations for wellies for narrow feet? Mine have just sprung a leak and I'm after some decent ones this time - lockdown has us outside a lot more so I think it's worth it!

I want something warm, probably neoprene lined, and had looked at Aigle and Muck Boots. Almost decided on some Muck Boots and then I read in a couple of reviews that they suit wide feet. Mine are pretty narrow so that's not what I want!

Oh! And I should add that although I'm prepared to spend money on a decent pair of wellies, to me that means £100 not £400 for a pair of Le Chameux!

I splashed out for Le Chameau leather lined ones with zips in an earlier lockdown as I have fatal combo of narrow feet but wide ish calves. So warm. So amazing. So worth the money. I went out in the full snow in them on Sunday morning and was braced for cold toes but my feet and legs stayed warm throughout. I've been dog walking in them twice a day for weeks and not a mark on them. Brilliant.

friskybivalves · 26/01/2021 08:52

Oh. Cross posted. I got mine for £240 in a sale and it was a mega crunch moment but I've had so many crap pairs and I'm assured they will last for 15 years plus. So that's how I justified it to myself. I also have high arches and other boots that were OK for narrow feet also seemed to assume one had flat feet. And narrow calves. So rarely had any feeling from the knee down after about 10mins even assuming I could get the buggers on at all. Hmm

Swearwolf · 26/01/2021 09:22

Ahh thank you! It is so tempting but it's just too far over my budget really.

I have narrow feet and have had no issues with Muckboots. I've got 3 pairs now (long, mid and short) and all of them are great. DM has incredibly narrow feet and also wears them. They do come up big though so you do need to size down

3boysNeedABiggerKitchen · 26/01/2021 10:20

After a lengthy search for new wellies that would not die after 12 months (Joules), not cost a ridiculous sum (Aigle, Le Chameau), I have just purchased a pair of 'warm wellies'
They only had 'wide calf' available in my size and green but I took the punt.
For 'wide calf' read adjustable calf. I got them out of the box and walked around the house to check the size and have since worn them twice a day every day for the last 2 weeks
Warm, comfortable, good grip and suit my narrow feet.

limesoda · 26/01/2021 10:20

Sizing down is a good shout. My feet are 6.5,and I threw on DMs hunters a while back for her to proclaim that they fit me way better than her and that they were now mine.

I know hunters are style not substance, so I'd be looking at other brands, but definitely trying a smaller size.

Swearwolf · 26/01/2021 14:49

Thanks everyone! I'm a size 3 so sizing down can be tricky, I'm prepared to wear big socks but definitely want them as non-wide-fitting as possible!

And @3boysNeedABiggerKitchen I totally agree on Joules! The ones that just split are Joules and they really weren't worth the money.

@Swearwolf I was really disappointed, they were really comfortable, but split just over 12 months in. They can be returned for up to 12 months! Typical.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 26/01/2021 14:59

I can’t help with the quest for decent quality wellies, as mine are bog-standard Dunlop green ones and cost a tenner (though they do actually suit my narrow feet and have lasted a year so far!), but I can highly recommend getting sheepskin insoles for wellies - helps with the sizing and stops your feet freezing! Mine made my wellies feel a bit tight in conjunction with my thickest hiking socks the first day, but then they squashed down a bit and I love them!

confusednortherner · 26/01/2021 15:05

Le chameux neoprene lined are £180 in our local outdoors shop, know it's over budget but less than £400

Uponmytiptoes · 26/01/2021 15:43

I have really narrow feet and wear Aigle wellies. They're really comfy too 😊

Uponmytiptoes · 26/01/2021 15:45

Just to add, I got the 'Miss Juliette' style from amazon and they only cost me £55.

Swearwolf · 29/01/2021 06:07

Just to update, I flip flopped all week between Aigle, Ariat and Muck Boots and have ordered a pair of Muck Boots. Fingers crossed!

Late to the thread and I see you’ve already made your decision, but if it’s any reassurance, I invested in a pair of Le Chameaus a couple of years ago - wellies get intensive use here and I also have narrow feet so Muck Boots don’t work on me.

They were indeed toasty and lovely, but then the rubber perished after only 18 months. I took them back to the shop I bought them from, and they told me I’d have to deal directly with Le Chameau. I contacted them and sent photos, and they asked if I’d been washing them and rubbing in their special silicone spray after every wearing. No, I had not, because the shop had not told me I needed to, and had they done that I would not have bought them in the first place, as I need wellies to be practical not high maintenance.

They refused to refund me. What a waste of money. Never again.

I’m currently wearing cheapo Decathlon furry-lined wellies and they are perfect for narrow feet. We shall see how long they last!

boobybum · 29/01/2021 12:00

I have very narrow feet and skinny legs and I wear fleece lined Dunlop wellies. I have to wear thick woolly socks but I find them fine so they may be worth a cheap punt.

Swearwolf · 29/01/2021 16:35

@VenusClapTrap that's interesting! The Muck Boots didn't work out - they emailed me to say they were out of stock and I was being refunded. So I'm back to the search!

I have narrow feet and have Aigle. They're very comfy and have lasted for years.

Swearwolf · 30/01/2021 15:54

I've just ordered some Aigle! Thanks to everyone who recommended them. I got the fur lined ones - I hate having cold feet and I don't often need to wear wellies in the summer, and i live in my ugg Chelsea boots for nine months of the year so I figured it made sense! Only silly mistake I made was ordering direct from the website as they are coming from France and will get caught in the Brexit mess.

Hi all - bit late to the party but was searching for the same thing so it popped up. I have narrow feet but quite long - and flat - and with bunions. Hurrah! Sore feet from moving around and sliding on to my toes is the norm.

I am never sure what size to get that won't flop about (my calves and NOT narrow). Do you know if any of your favourites would do half sizes? Seems a rarity these days. Thanks!

Noshowwithoutpunch · 23/08/2021 10:22

Well, I know they are slated on here but I love my Hunter wellies.
They are narrow.
Had mine 3yr so far...

Thanks - are they wide enough at the calf..?
Noshowwithoutpunch · 23/08/2021 12:17

@SDen

On their sizing chart it gives the calf width.
Obviously increases with foot size.
My size 4 boot fits my average sized calf perfectly. (Size 14 jeans. 5'2 in height if that helpsGrin).

Noshowwithoutpunch · 23/08/2021 12:21

Oh, and they do Huntress for a wider calf.
