How do you refresh your make up during the day?

I am generally happy with my make up in the morning with my face looking fresh and dewy but by the end of the day I look ashen and tired.

I think maybe it’s the lack of natural light and too much blue light from screens. Am wondering if I need a facial mist of some sort?

I have quite oily skin so I blot off any excess oil with a tissue, re apply some loose powder, put a bit more blusher on, and a bit more eyeliner if required. I have never had make up that lasts all day

I use:

  • Mac studio fix powder to fill faded patches/ to touch up my under eye
  • reapply Huda liquid lipstick
  • retouch brows, eyeshadow or highlighter if applied in the morning

As far as mists, they do different things:

  • UD all nighter prevents makeup from fading to begin with
  • Mac fix+ gives a glow, but to a certain degree will fade your makeup rather than “refresh” it
  • there’s various other skincare based mists eg mario badescu, kiehls, boots etc that feel more refreshing

So it depends on exactly what you’re asking for? A mist won’t magically touch up your makeup and make it look reapplied.

I use a primer before I apply it to help it stay on.

I would reapply light reflecting primer, tinted moisturiser, and blusher if necs. The glowy thing doesn’t last all day. Brisk walk at lunchtime is good too.

I’ve never had to reapply makeup in the day. Perhaps look into a good primer / a decent setting spray / better suited foundation? I don’t mean that cattily, just you may get more joy out of alternative profits if they’re not lasting. The only thing that I ever touch up is lipstick after I eat/ drink but I only wear that on a night out because that’s far too much hassle to do evry day!!

I use primer/setting spray when I first put my makeup on.

I have oily/combination skin so use blotting tissue, touch up with powder and add a bit more blush if needed. Might add a bit more eyeshadow/eyeliner if need be. And lipstick/gloss/balm.

I blot with Rizla papers and re apply lip gloss. Probably reapplying blusher would be a nice touch though.

It depends what make up you are wearing

I'm tending not to wear foundation, just concealer, brows and mascara, so I don't really need anything

If I was bothered about my make up later in the day eg for an evening Zoom I would check my concealer was still in place. I don't prefer so I'd literally pat with my finger and that would usually be enough.

A primer or face mist could help you but also depends how long you're expecting your make up to last.

At work I wear primer with foundation over the top on my chin, nose & around my nose. I only apply primer to my forehead, & nothing on my cheeks except maybe some blusher.
I put Clinique airbrush concealer under my eyes & wear eyeshadow, liner & mascara, also eyebrow pencil.

Then I have to wear a surgical mask for nearly 8 hours....

But all the makeup stays put. I only have to apply a bit of pressed powder to my nose & forehead once or twice and that's it.

I don't bother with lipstick due to the mask, I just apply Lanolips to stop dryness.

Out of work if I'm not wearing a mask I tend to swap the foundation for BB cream but wear it all over my face for a healthy glow. It does last but I do find I need to apply my powder a few times to take down the shine as my skin is oily.

The powder I use is Clinique stay matte sheer pressed powder oil free in 101 invisible matte.
