Affordable but nice skincare range with facial oil?

Lockdowningagain · 20/01/2021 21:45

I really need to get back into a skincare routine as at the moment just wipe with micellar water and use whatever dregs of whatever moisturiser sample/freebie I can find from my bag of random tubes

Currently at home with baby and preschooler but in my corporate days when we had much more money I used to use Elemis (mostly Pro-Collagen range) and occasionally Decleor.

Really, these are out of my price range now though I could stretch to one product. I'm looking for a day cream, night cream and serum/facial oil as still have some nice cleansers.

I like fresh and fruity smells, or no scent, but hate cloying florals!

Any advice gratefully received

Have you considered a Beauty Pie subscription for a few months? Some of their products are good and I like their super something or other facial oil.
Otherwise one of the ever popular Superdrug ranges might do an oil. They're always good value for money.

Try the inkey list squalane serum. Its lovely and very cheap. Got mine from feelunique or allbeauty.

thebestnamehere · 20/01/2021 23:49

deciem is the website you need, for The Ordinary products. Super and super affordable

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/01/2021 23:50

Ren or Sanctuary (boots) have very nice oils. Inkey list squalene meant to be vg too as a pp said.

Look at elemis on qvc ? Lots of good sets and offers

DiscoJanet · 21/01/2021 00:11

Haeckels is lovely, have a range of different facial oils, all organic, really lovely. I've been using tomato seed oil, £10 a bottle, and have only just finished a bottle which lasted me five months using twice a day. I always used Aesop previously at £50+ a bottle of facial oil - Haeckels is just as good!

Superfacialist - I use the cleansing oil and facial oil everyday. It’s available in Sainsbury’s or online.

Zofloratheexplora · 21/01/2021 12:16

The Ordinary. I like the rosehip oil

Thank you! Looking into these recommendations!

I’ve been using Face Theory recently and liked it. The Rosehip oil doesn’t smell great but makes my skin feel amazing! It doesn’t smell floral - more earthy. They usually do 20% off too

mackvic4 · 21/01/2021 14:49

not sure where you do your weekly shop, but i have got some great skincare dupes from aldi, a copy of the liz earle hot cloth cleanser which is great and a facial oil too. if you look at the ingredients on the cheaper night and day creams they tend to contain the same stuff anyway Smile

FlyingByTheSeatof · 21/01/2021 15:36

Sunday Riley Luna oil is good as you only need to apply this really on its own plus it has retinol in it.

You only need 4 drops so a 45ml bottle will last ages.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 21/01/2021 15:37

I mean't 15ml bottle

FlyingByTheSeatof · 21/01/2021 15:43

The Boots No 7 ranges are great actually. I love the protect and perfect intense advanced range (in green)

homeedder1979 · 21/01/2021 16:06

Boots Botanics Organic range.
Very reasonably priced, no nasty chemicals and a lovely facial oil.
HTH.

MilkshakeandFries · 21/01/2021 16:08

I wouldn't bother with Beauty Pie at the moment - loads of their products come from Europe and they're having trouble getting hold of them, so lots of stuff is out of stock.

I second the Sunday Riley range, I love the Juno oil.

Livedandlearned · 21/01/2021 16:15

I like UpCircle and they seek some products in Sainsbury's which are often on offer.

doadeer · 21/01/2021 16:17

There is a Marks & Spencer's range called pure, I really love the cleansing balm and night balm. I actually think it's a really nice skincare range and I'm a bit of a skincare obsessive

Rupertpenrysmistress · 21/01/2021 16:18

I agree the ordinary, rosehip oil. Great prices too.

Housebuyer2020 · 21/01/2021 16:24

I use alternate between Lancôme serum abs vitamin c serum from Holland and Barrett- both I find are excellent.. then as a moisturiser I now use.. vitamin e oil from dr. Organics and trilogy rose hip... for cleansing... I slather on coconut oil to dislodge makeup etc... then wipe offf with a hot cloth... I have very oily spot prone skin... but this has made vast difference in the texture of my skin.. FYI I’m 40.. two kids, and most of the time frazzled 😩

glassacorn · 21/01/2021 16:24

I love Beauty Pie. Overhauled my skincare in the last year and mostly it comes from BP. Most of their ranges really agree with my skin, so I've managed to save £££ compared to the usual brands I would buy. 🥰

Agreed. The products are much more concentrated than they are in most stuff you buy that also includes active ingredients. And they are so affordable you can take a punt and try lots of stuff out.
sabrinathemiddleagewitch · 21/01/2021 18:04

Another one for Beauty pie.
Their tinted moisturiser is a dupe for Laura M

walkwalk · 21/01/2021 18:05

Disciple - dreamy skin night oil with retinol

Also has essential oils so don't bother if you are sensitive to them. I have sensitive skin though generally and my skin is so happy with this!

Trial sizes available for very reasonable price and last a long time

OhBabooahka · 21/01/2021 18:17

One of the best cleansers I've used is Superdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser, about £5 a tube and lasts ages. And I like high end products.
