Inauguration style, anyone?

I have been channelling Bernie recently but I am dusting off my Good Coat after watching!

Amanda Gorman's beautiful yellow was my highlight.
I also loved

• the lady in pale blue at the back
• the lady with a fuschia coat and white glasses!
• the Biden granddaughters
• the baby in a tartan coat and bonnet

And Dr Biden's coat was sparkly. I would like a sparkly coat.

Melania's kaftan was just insane! It was clearly a statement - she gets on the plane in a formal, businesslike black suit, gets off ready for pre dinner cocktails by the pool. I think she'd be happy never to be seen in public again.

VP Harris's outfit was a gorgeous colour, and loved that she wore her pearls to honour her sorority. Had a little cry when she came out with the amazing gentleman from the capitol.

Michelle looked stunning - and it was quite telling given that she was dressed in a very understated way for Trump's inauguration - hair pulled back etc. The Obama girls looked lovely too, nice to see them all grown up.

I loved Jill's sparkles, and it was a really pretty colour. She has such a warm, friendly face which always makes her look lovely. The Bidens all looked nicely turned out.

Loved the OTT-ness of JLo's outfit! I winced at seeing all those heels on the stairs though!

Yes VP Harris' face was genuine.

Michelle Obama’s outfit was so incredibly beautiful!!! I could watch her coming down those stairs over and over!

Melania’s Birkin!

Melania always wears heels so she’s used to it. That kaftan was a glorious “casual” Melania. Off duty. The heels were gone too. She’s one stylish woman. Shame about her choice of husband.

Kamala Harris seemed to wear a top under her lovely purple coat that was too blue. Seemed a bit “wrong” that it was plain. HMQ usually has a toning pattern. That’s a better look.

Jill Biden looked great as did Michelle Obama. Lady Gaga rocked a gold dove holding an olive branch which she repeated with gold olive branch ear jackets. You couldn’t take your eyes off her. I though JLo’s ensemble was fantastic. It looked like a very expensive fine tweed. I was wondering Chanel? It was an ensemble of textures and I thought it was stunning.

Why do no women wear hats in the usa? Not a hat to be seen? All the hair flying around. Our Royals do hats for formal occasions. I guess America doesn’t have Philip Treacy!

I thought Melania was positively skipping with joy as they headed to Marine One!

Amanda Gorman’s yellow coat was wonderful but the red satin headband - 0/10. Just perched like an afterthought. I would have thought these women would get the help of a stylist for such a massive occasion. No one would have suggested that headband stuck over braids. There were so many other ideas that could have decorated her hair other than a Kate signature headband. In satin!

Jennifer Lopez’s outfit was terrible, looked like something Liberace would do the garden in.

I agree with a pp it looked like it might be Chanel.
