Getting rid of little bumps on chin

Any ideas? They're like raised blocked pores, not exactly blackheads or whiteheads, they're only small and not infected but just really annoying and spoil the appearance of my skin. The kind you can sometimes squeeze but other times not, and even if I do squeeze them it leaves a red mark that's probably more noticeable than the original bump... and sometimes it doesn't work and it just gets infected...

I don't know exactly what causes them, if it's hormonal or if something in my skincare is blocking pores, but I try very hard not to use anything like that.

I've tried (over a long period) using salycilic acid, glycolic and lactic acids, gentle physical scrubs, retinol, vit c, azelaic acid, oil cleansers, doing nothing and just moisturise/face oil (non blocking ones), nothing seems to get rid of them.

Advice welcome!

"Bump" (no pun intended 😬)

I have exactly the same. 2 have appeared in the last few weeks just below my lips. I had one on my cheek for years which I eventually managed to squeeze into oblivion but it's left an enormous open pore. I'd love to know the solution because I hate them! Let's hope someone knowledgeable comes along to help.

Dermalogica micro exfoliating powder got rid of these for me! It's expensive but lasts forever!

I have these and still do but they seem to be getting better since I started getting a Dermatica prescription. My treatment is Tretinoin 0.05% / Niacinamide 4% / Clindamycin 1%

Thanks for your replies.

@goldpendant I already have that!! I think it helps a bit. What do you put on after you use it? I always feel like whatever I do afterwards is either too harsh or maybe blocks my pores...

I'll look into the prescription thingy 👍🏼

I think they're an ageing thing possibly caused by UV, I have a few on the right hand side of my face and I drive a lot so have older skin on the right cheek. I have the same Dermatica prescription as the above poster and I noticed this week that my right cheek was smoothing out a bit.

GreenLeafTurnip · 21/01/2021 18:04

@Anotheruser20 that makes a bit of sense because I'm aging and I live in Europe so drive on the right and they're on my left! I'll try the dermalogica stuff maybe it will help. I've just had a look now and they look sort of grey under the skin. I need to not try and squeeze them!

I have these and only noticed them when I got a magnifying mirror!
I can’t help but squeeze them I’m afraid.

Skin and me prescription (tret) has shifted mine

Interesting theory about UV. Trouble is that all sunscreens seem to block my pores and make it worse!

Is there any difference between Dermatica and Skin & Me?

I had this when I was younger. Chronic bumps. Nothing I tried including prescriptions would help. But one day I read about the aspirin mask and tried it. OMG it worked amazing! My skin felt amazing after the first time I did it. I then continued doing it 2-3 times a week for a month and the bumps were completely gone! I did the mask regularly for about a year or more. They never returned. I swear by it!

Just take 5-6 uncoated aspirin and mix with a few drops of water until the aspirin start to dissolve and form a paste. Put it all over your clean skin and leave until dry and they flake off. Then wash off with a face cloth / flannel. The grainy aspirin will also help to exfoliate your face.

Aspirin is made up of ASA which is acetacylic (sp?) acid which is the same stuff they put in liquid beauty exfoliant products
