Low maintenance hairstyle recommendation

So currently my hair is fairly long, and all one length. I quite fancy a change, would like to go on the shorter side. I'm thinking maybe a choppy bob type thing - maybe even with a fringe!

At the moment I spend virtually no time at all styling it. I just brush it. I don't want to style it properly each morning, and probably wouldn't be able to, due to incompetence! Does anyone have any thoughts on these styles? How much work does it take in the morning? Anyone got any other suggestions?

A long bob was the most high-maintenance style I ever had. The fringe needed attention every morning either wetted and blow-dried with a round brush or straighteners and the ends forever flicked the wrong way and I had to use straighteners on them. Trying to get any kind of volume in it was a nightmare. My hair is dead straight and fine.

Currently my hair is short and spiked and it's the lowest maintenance I've ever had, though I do need to wet/wash it every morning and blast a dryer at it to get it to spike up. Takes all of 5 minutes.

Yeah, have to agree with @Spodge. Frequent haircuts aside my pixie was the easiest to style day to day as messy is best. Has to be the right cut mind.

Pixie cuts are fairly low maintenance as in quick to dry and pop on some wax, but you need regular trims. Mine has gone past 6 weeks and is now sticking out in all directions. You probalby have the low maintenance hairstyle already.

Bobs are very difficult and time consuming!! I can't wait to grow mine out. Could you get some highlight or colour and maybe some layers? If you want to keep it low maintenance I wouldn't go for a bob

Don’t make the mistake of thinking short hair is less time consuming!

I have a long Bob - it's super easy. Rests just on my shoulders, blunt cut, long side swept fringe.

I tend to salt spray and tousle after washing and leave to dry naturally - it has a very slight natural wave

Everyone’s different I suppose. I had a long bob and found it fairly low maintenance, it was fast to wash/blow dry/style and had volume with minimal effort!

However my longer hair did have dead ends which would have weighed it down pre-cut.

I have slightly wavy hair and have always properly blow dried my hair each wash, so for me it was less time consuming with shorter hair vs long hair. I’m not really a “wash and go” type of person - I don’t mind styling it somewhat.

I had waist length hair which I cut to collar bone length, it has since grown out to boob level. I liked all lengths, but definitely find shorter much more effort to style. I find hair between armpit and waist length easier to deal with.

Fringes are very high maintenance, need to be cut super regularly, and (unless you have naturally perfect hair) they will need styling everyday.

Hmm, thanks for all your thoughts! I am surprised that so many people have said pixie cuts are easier than a bob. I thought as it got shorter it got !ore difficult (until you do a buzz cut).

I was thinking of the salt spray thing @WaltzingBetty I've never used much product so am never sure what to do.

Now I'm thinking of trying a bob, but not getting a fringe just now. Seems like a fringe requires a lot more maintenance since I was 10. At least the good thing with hair is it will grow! I do colour my hair at the moment, I've had it all sorts of colours in recent years.

@Fiadh79 I have to agree about the bob. I couldn't wait for it to grow back out and absolutely hated it! Now, it's long, low maintenance, needs washing once a week but I want something different but not entirely sure what!
