Eye bags

I'm looking for recommendations for a product to sort out my hideous dark circles please. I'm 33, have very little in the way of wrinkles and lines, no grey hairs... but my eyes make me look older than I am. Sadly they're hereditary so I appreciate I may be a lost cause. I don't wear much in the way of make up so I'm not sure about going down the route of trying to cover them with concealer. I need something to actually fix them- if that even exists!

To be honest even surgery or fillers may not fix them, it’s a difficult area to treat.

You can experiment with skincare and makeup. Murad’s vita c eye cream is good as it’s both skincare with a touch of coverage. Makes you look more alive on makeup free days

Also do you rub your eyes subconsciously? This can worsen dark circles

I don't think so- I guess sometimes when my hay fever is really bad. I know I rub my eyebrows when I'm feeling a bit tense or stressed, but not my actual eyes.

As a sufferer myself.... mine seem to improve when I drink plenty of water (I don’t usually).

if they're just dark you may benefit most from tear trough filler.
for actual makeup cover-up I found this to be best to cover up really bad eye bruising (after surgery) so may be worth a go.

Fellow sufferer here, ive tried soo many concealers and can vouch for Vichey as a good cover up, i wish there was a permenant solution

anxiousturtle · 15/01/2021 20:55

Goodness I've never heard of a tear trough filler before, that sounds a bit scary! 😆

I definitely don't drink enough water!

a friend had it and it looked great. I wanted it done but I had fat pads that needed removing so wasn't suitable for me, otherwise i would have loved it.
I ended up having a lower eye bag removal and fat transfer which is a bigger deal. although I recommend taking a filler or surgical approach if that's what you need - I put it off for years and now its done I feel SO much better and wish I'd done it ages ago.

sofiaaaaaa · 15/01/2021 22:10

@tellthem oh wow! Would be interesting to see your (cropped) before/after if you’re comfortable sharing Smile

I have looked into tear trough filler - it’s apparently the most difficult area to treat with a wide scope of negative results which puts me off. Haven’t found a doctor yet.

JudyGemstone · 16/01/2021 09:42

A good concealer, you don't have to wear a full face of make up with it.

tellthem · 16/01/2021 09:49

two before pics and the one on the right is the after. I think it looks a bit like I have a filter on but I don't, as you can see I had loose skin not just dark so the filler wouldn't have worked to fix all my concerns. but the fat transfer has given a smooth layer over the previously dark area which has sorted that out too, same as the filler would.

sofiaaaaaa · 16/01/2021 14:55

@tellthem that’s a major transformation! Amazing results, so happy for you!

Ilikewinter · 16/01/2021 15:03

Oh wow that looks really good. Ive looked at fillers but worry that if it went wrong I couldn't exactly hide it!

tellthem · 16/01/2021 15:12

the surgeon i saw said tear trough ones can be dissolved if there was was an issue. I went to a highly regarded surgeon on harley Street and whether it be surgery or filler would make sure it was someone with that high level of qualification/experience and not "just" a High Street aesthetics type of place.

pinkfish777 · 16/01/2022 03:14

@tellthem Amazing, do you mind sharing who the surgeon was?

Tellthemagain · 16/01/2022 08:39

@pinkfish777 it was Dr Julian de Silva.
