Country boots, neoprene wellies or similar

I'm looking for some boots for walking in the wet, muddy fields. I have made do with Wellies but my feet get so cold and they're not very comfortable. I don't want short, hiking boots, I fancy a pair of country boots but as it's impossible to try any on in RL, I could do with some advice. Are they really worth the price tag?

Another vote for Muck Boots! I have 3 pairs of various styles and love them all. I've never had any rubbing of issues with them.

@cardoon They come up big, definitely size down

I have had two pairs of dubarry boots - first pair lasted 6 years - walk dog everyday.
Second pair now 2 years old - trying to look after them a bit better so polish them every few months-
expensive but worth it!!

I've got Dublin River boots, I'd say they come up large size wise. I wear a size 6, which is what my boots are and they are a bit big, but at least there's room for thick socks. I might be wrong, but I think they do different calf fittings too. I love them.

I’ve had my original Dubarrys for 12 years and they’re still waterproof. Originally wore them as a smart boot and then gradually they got downgraded, ride in them, muck out in them and must have walked literally hundreds of miles. Worth every penny, cost per wear must by now be negligible.
I have a second smarter pair which will soon be downgraded as the lining inside the first pair is nearly worn through. First pair are Galways and second pair are Clare’s. They still clean up remarkably well still.

Muck boots here

No rubbing issues and I actually throw them on even just to run to the corner shop

Dublin River boots are ok ish, depending how long you want them to last. I've had two pairs and mine collapsed around the ankle, lining came away inside, and they developed holes pretty quickly (both pairs). In fairness, I'm very hard on my boots, was mucking out several horses a day in them at the time and walking miles, so for general use they might be ok. I didn't rate them massively, though, and didn't find them any warmer than my regular wellies.

Aigle Parcours Iso 2 are what I wear now. They're amazing. So, so comfy. Mine have been hard wearing, I walk about 5-6 miles a day in them with ease, and they're ridiculously warm. Can't recommend them highly enough, they're pricey, but were worth every penny for me.

My muck boots didn’t last that long before developing 2 splits in the rubber where they crease as I walk. Think I’ve been unlucky though because most people seem to have theirs for years. They are comfortable, light and waterproof (if they don’t split) though.

I had exactly the same experience with the Dublin boots!

I've had my Chameaus for 4 years now- Vierzonord, suuuuper comfy and warm, and as waterproof as the day I got them! (Although I haven't had a horse for over a year now- but I wore them daily until then!).

Another recommendation for Aigle Parcours 2 Iso - soooo good.
