In my 30's and still don't have a shampoo I'm happy with

Does anyone have any day to day shampoo / conditioner recommendations? I flit between Aussie, Charles Worthington, Tresemee and lee Stafford and have Cel micro stem which I used after having my baby and suffering hair loss and still use once a month.

The main thing I feel like I'm "missing" with my shampoos is my hair smelling nice for more than ten minutes after washing.. and the nice soft salon feeling Confused

I wash my hair every other day which I know isn't ideal but I exercise most days and it really does need it...

I've just started with Michael Van Clarke's cashmere shampoo and conditioner after reading someone else on here recommend it. Bloody expensive but I really like it so far.

I always thought you were supposed to change shampoo to stop build up. That said when I use Aveda shampoo/ conditioner the smell seems to linger. Soft salon hair a bit of serum and a hot blow dry (not great for your hair in the long term).

I recently started using tigi recovery moisture shampoo and conditioner and it makes my hair feel really soft, can still smell the fragrance quite a long time after drying and styling.

I use the Tigi Bedhead Urban Antidotes too based on a recommendation on here. I love it! I've got no 3 but might get no 2 next time. And it's only £16 for a big bottle of both shampoo and conditioner on Amazon.

ELM8 · 06/01/2021 20:04

Thank you wise ladies.. I've gone for the Tigi bedhead to start with - good price and Amazon prime, got to be done.

Interesting point about changing shampoos, I haven't heard that before!!

I always recommend aveda.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 06/01/2021 20:13

Garnier shampoo bar. I only started using it last month, but it is a game changer.

TLIMSISNW · 06/01/2021 20:15

I avoid silicones and sulphates as I have coarse, curly hair so I use As I Am cowash and every few washes use a Noughty shampoo to clarify.

Also an apple cider vinegar rinse and a rust water rinse can do wonders if you do one of each every now and then then.

YouFellAsleep · 06/01/2021 20:24

I'm looking to change to a shampoo bar, trying to be a bit more anti plastic and the bars look great and less chemically. Just undecided which at the minute.

Cheesey21 · 06/01/2021 20:29

@OneRingToRuleThemAll agreed. I'm currently using the oat one and it leaves my hair AND the bathroom smelling lovely but not overpowering!

Mrstwiddle · 06/01/2021 20:48

In my 40s and same :(

I’ve tried so many, the sulphate free ones I find just don’t mean my hair needs washing everyday.

Mrstwiddle · 06/01/2021 20:50

I’m thinking about splurging on the olaplex shampoo/conditioner if anyone has any experience of that?

Theunamedcat · 06/01/2021 20:54

I'm currently using gruum shampoo bars

bigmistake1 · 06/01/2021 20:58

Aveda Shampure. Not cheap but you use so little. Smell is amazing.

mamaca · 06/01/2021 21:01

Aveda shampure here too - I buy the litre size and it lasts for ages! Smells amazing 😍

YouFellAsleep · 06/01/2021 22:56

I've looked at those too, are they any good??

I have... now week 3...but only wash hair 3 times a week....first few weeks hair was a bit greasy and heavy but now it's bouncy and looks good ..I got small bottles to try it out first and may buy again but got tigi Bedhead for Xmas to try !
Fluffycloudland77 · 07/01/2021 08:11

Olaplex made my Dn hair fall out, her scalp itched and then the hair came out.

Mrstwiddle · 08/01/2021 02:09

Well mixed reviews there for olaplex!

whoamIamIalright · 08/01/2021 02:16

Another vote for Aveda. I like the madder root as it brings out the natural red tones in my hair but they have something for everyone. It’s chuffing expensive but if you buy the large one (?1ltr) then it last ages so therefore it’s good value right?! It’s what my salon use so kinda gives you that salon feeling.

ELM8 · 19/01/2021 21:41

So I tried tigi bedhead and I have to say I love it! Smells nice and hair is soft, much prefer it to others I have used.

I don't want to miss a trick though so am also going to try aveda Grin

Thanks all!!!

Aveeno shampoo/conditioner is wonderful 🌺

Ghostella · 19/01/2021 22:14

I really like the Dr Organic range at Holland & Barrett. I’m currently on Manila Honey and loving it! I do cycle through the different smells in the range for a change but they always leave my hair smelling gorgeous.
