What do I do about my nails?!

I had a shellac manicure (I think that's what it's called - the one where it's set with UV light) done just before Christmas. Nail salons now have to close. How am I supposed to remove it?! Please advise!

Acetone (Amazon sells it) soaked cotton wool balls on each fingernail, wrap in foil.

Wait 10 mins or so and peel off. Might need a bit of help with a scrapy thing (also available on Amazon)

you need to file the surface. Then soak in pure acetone (from boots / superdrug). Put on cotton wool and then in foil and twist. Wait at least 20-30mins. Repeat if necessary.

I feel your pain! I just let mine grow out - it was a sort of keratin-based timeline of lockdown. If you don’t fancy that option, try soaking your nails in a bowl of acetone that’s kept warm (use a bigger bowl of hot water in which you suspend the acetone-filled bowl). You need to be patient but eventually it’ll start to slough off and you can file the rest. It’s what my nail lady does.

I use mylee pre soaked acetone pads, from amazon, they’re much better than using the liquid and then wrapping in foil. You just rip the top and wrap around your finger.

I did mine yesterday - this is what my nail tech told me to do and it works better than the foil wrap method.

First file the surface to remove the top coat/break the seal.

Cheap bottle of acetone nail varnish remover from any supermarket. Pour some in a non metallic bowl and hold that over a bowl of boiling water (basically a DIY bain marie) hold your fingers in for around 5 minutes and the shellac will just come away.

File any remnants away.
