Adult acne.. Obagi

Hi

I am writing this post as I remember when I was suffering from terrible adult acne I would look ok these boards for answers..

Well I have been on the Obagi clenziderm which consists of a salicylic acid cleanser and toner along with benzoyl peroxide treatment, moisturiser and tretanoinin (3 times a week only) for 6 weeks now and my skin is the best it has been in years.. I’ve probably had around 4 small spots in 6 week that have cleared very quickly compared to waking up with two new spots a day and remaining marks.

I was terrified of a purge from the tretanoin but I didn’t have one.. yes I had dry flaky skin but nothing like what I had read in the reviews.. however I appreciate everyone is different and I have been on BP and epiduo which contains adapalene which is a retinol for years so my skin may have been accustomed to it.

It was very pricey at £360 however I have spent probably near on thousands including private derms since I was 25 (31 now) trying to sort this out.

If you don’t mind the price I would urge anyone suffering to give it ago.. I have Mild PCOS so this stuff does work on hormonal acne.

Just to add I have been on every treatment prescribed by the GP over the years and this was my last step before roaccutane .. the last time my skin was this clear was when I did the acne.org regimen when I was 25 however after 2/3 years my skin broke out again

For £360 I’d have taken roaccutane (I was on roaccutane and have pcos) but I hope you get long term results from it.

At the end of the day, the products themselves are expensive from the factory. There is very little profit added at the point of sale. If you can get these things cheap, you can more or less guarantee they are fake or stolen goods. Source: a number of friends who are doctors and dermatologists haha
